I feed an all wet diet to my 2 furbabies and for treats I give them Pure Bites.     Instead of buying junk like Temptations I've been thinking of giving them some dry food just as a treat.  Just a few bits a night or something.

Since I don't regularly buy dry food anymore I'm looking for suggestions for dry good as a treat

How about freeze dried raw food? Stella and Chewy's and Nature's Variety Instinct are two good brands. For something harder in texture anre more like kibble, try ZiwiPeak air dried raw. My previous cat loved Poultry Cripsies before the ingredients were changed to include honey and molasses (cat was diabetic so sugars were a no-no).

For regular dry food, go with something grain-free like Nature's Variety Instinct.

I've bought freeze dried liver for treats. You can often find larger quantity/lower priced liver in the dog section. It's OK to feed it to kitties if it's just a single-food treat (liver only, not liver plus other stuff).

As @LTS3 has mentioned, there are many types of freeze-dried raw food, and lots of freeze-dried treats. Just make sure you don't go over 10% of daily intake, as the freeze dried food is dehydrating in its unrehydrated state.

If you're looking for kibble type dry food, I suggest you find a high end, independent pet store. Often they have free sample packets of dry food. Off hand, I remember Call of the Wild and Natural Planet at one store I've been to.

Thanks

I've been thinking of kibble for a treat because it'd be cheaper but probably better to look into some freeze dried.   Its pricey but I looked around Chewy and Amazon and they have NV Minis relatively cheap.  I'll give those a go and see if they like.

:yeah:
My boys get the dried chicken (Wiggies will eat that) and beef and lamb. Although they do still get Temptations.... :shame:

I was going to suggest the samples too. A couple of the local stores here do that often, plus they'll sell the smaller bags for people looking to try a new kibble.
