I can't think of anything to get my best friend for Christmas. I've been wracking my brain and have no ideas what so ever. She's a wonderful person. She's been rescuing cats for the past fifteen years. She won't wear hats and seldom wears mittens, no scarves. She doesn't have time to read. She has very little space. She doesn't drink coffee. She really doesn't need anything I can give her, but I want to give her something all the same. Any suggestions?

Does she have a favorite little shop or tea store she likes to visit? A gift card to there would be great for her. Does she like to cook? Does she like to eat? Maybe a nice basket filled with some of her favorite teas (if she likes them) and her favorite snacks. Could you take her out to dinner or to a local place she's been wanting to visit?

She doesn't like to cook, and she's not much of a foodie. She likes Red Rose tea, so strong it'll bend the spoon. She's very difficult!

If she's involved in rescue, what about donations in her name? Donations towards the rescue she works with/for? Maybe it doesn't even have to be a single gift - maybe go with her on a certain day to help feed or TNR. I'm often involved with the Canadian Cancer Society and it REALLY means the world to me to have my friends by my side at events, whether they have their own reasons or are just doing it to be with me and to be supportive. If she spends a lot of time outside doing rescue, warm socks! Sweaters?

Something decorative? A big warm blanket? A memory foam pillow for a good night's sleep? If you like to cook, have her over for an evening and get her favourite dishes ready and just relax for the night with a movie or chatting. It sounds childish, but sometimes the little things can bring out the fun people forgot they had. Last year I made a gingerbread house with one of my friends and then we smashed it and ate a bunch of it. Cooking a simple meal together? Baking together?

She IS the rescue, with a little help from her friends...We're really small. I wonder if the veterinarian would make some sort of gift certificate? Thanks for the idea!

What about certificates for a day off? Get the other people together, and figure out what they can do and when, then give her a certificate for a day or two off from the shelter. Put the certificate on top of a little home spa basket.

I know the vet clinic I take my kitties to offers gift certificates.  Even though I don't do rescue I would certainly appreciate a gift certificate from them.

We are the shelter, us two and two other friends. As of the end of last year, there were 34 adults and 242 kittens rescued. That's going to jump at the end of this year, its been busy!
