Anyone have experience with feline acne? What treatment worked for you. I'd prefer something that doesn't need to be prescribed just for the sake of money.

If it's still in the blackhead stage and it isn't real near his mouth where he can lick it off you can use stridex pads.  Stainless steel bowls help prevent acne.

I've been using hypo allergenic cat wipes to help him clean his chin. It's still black heads but he scratches it and it's making him lose fur around his mouth and there's a small cluster of acne on the corner of his mouth. I use stainless steel bowls but the other person I live with who has a cat does not. He used to eat the other cat's bad food sometimes but I haven't seen him do it lately.

I've used Spectro-gel many times. Rinse the chin, gently scrub with spectro-gel, rinse, and dry. If you do this daily, it will clear up.

When I adopted Remy he had an awful case of feline acne. The most important thing you can do is stop using plastic water/food bowls and stay with stainless or ceramic. Then all you really need to do is put Hydrogen Peroxide on a cotton ball and wipe the chin with it every day. It will clear up

Brush the chin fur the wrong way with a fine toothed comb to remove the black specks. Then you can wipe the chin with acne pads, a cotton ball or pad soaked with witch hazel, or a pet grooming wipe. Cats can't groom under their chins so you may have to regularly wipe the chin to keep it clean.

The vet told us we could use human acne wipes, so we have some with benzoyl peroxide on existing acne, but where the skin is not broken. Since that stuff stinks and stings, I also use hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball which doesn't have as much smell or sting to keep any open sores clean.
