I have a 4 month old female kitten. I feed her a little less than 1/4 cup of Whiskas dry cat food mixed with 1/2 of a packet of Whiskas wet cat food twice a day.She come running when she hears me go into "her room" to feed her. Her bowl is always left down so if she doesn't eat all of her food right away she has a chance to eat it throughout the day too. I feed her in the morning and at night before I get ready for bed. She usually eats all oof her food and licks the bowl completely clean lol. She has a little bit of a chunky belly, but she was chunky when we got her. The person we got her from said she was always the first to get to the food to eat and the last one done. She is very active and gets a lot of exercise. Heck, she has two dogs to chase around a whole basement lol.Should I change what I am feeding her? She seems to like it, but I don't want her to be too fat and unhealthy...

You can't over feed a kitten. I would actually suggest adding an extra meal for her. She's really too young to just get two meals a day.

I was just concerned that she's eating too much because her belly is pretty chunky and I'm feeding her about 3/4 cups of food twice haha.

Heh. I agree, you can't overfeed a kitten. Whiskas isn't known to be a good brand of cat food and usually with a lot of grain which cats don't need.

Maybe something meatier will be better for her?

We've tried other more expensive brands and she turns her nose up and won't eat it. I even watched her carry some to her litter box and bury it! She doesn't like Purina at all... Whiskas is the only brand we've found that she will eat...

They say for a kitten that young you feed all they will eat to about 9 months to a yr old.   I have a 7 and 9 month old and I try and feed them 4 times a day.  They eat about 7 to 9 oz's of wet food a day.

I also recommend finding a better food.  Grain free wet with meat as first ingredient is much healthier.  Try a pet store instead of a grocery store for more variety that perhaps she will like.

Good luck.  She's a cutie!
