Hello! I recently joined the group after lurking as a guest for about a week. With all the stresses and negativity that the world has to offer, I must admit this site has become my happy place. I enjoy reading about everyone's fur baby's and learning all I can to make me a better caregiver to our kitten. We were blessed with Journey, who we call KeeBae ( short for Kitty Baby), at the end of April. We thought he was a she in the beginning. He was only 4.5 weeks old when we received him; unbeknownst to us. Nevertheless, he has grown with us and on us. He is now over 7 months old. He was neutered about 2 weeks ago and has calmed down some.
Here he is today after we put up our tree. He has claimed this spot. I'm curious to see how this will work out; kitten and Christmas tree. We have been very watchful. I can't imagine placing gifts under the tree.

I noticed today that he had some loose poop in his litterbox, so I will have to get him into the vet Monday. Other than that, things are going well. I'm happy to be a part of this community.

Hi, welcome to The Cat Site.

You're so lucky to have a cat that behaves himself near your Christmas tree. My lot would be up that in a moment, tree down, baubles smashed, tinsel dragged all over the house.

Hope the loose poop isn't anything too serious.

Hello Norachan,

Thank you for the welcome. I'm surprised myself that KeeBae hasn't tried climbing up the tree. But don't let the Norman Rockwell feel of the pic fool you, he has been pawing at the branches just a bit; nothing major. :)

I hope it isn't serious either. He is still playing around, still eating, and still drinking normally. Thank you for your concern. I appreciate it.

Yeah, I used his 'real' name, Journey, this morning as he zoomed passed me and up the stairs. Smh. Tonight, he will either sleep in his room with the door closed or in one of our rooms. His choice. No free roaming.

Welcome to TCS!  Max and Phoebe say hello!  Yes, you've got your hands full with a kitten under a Christmas tree. . .my kitties are almost 16 and they still love to hang out under the tree.  We've lost a few ornaments, but it's ok 'cause we know how much they love to hang out down there!

Thank you! I don't mind him chilling under the tree. It's adorable. I just wish he'd leave the "pretties" alone. Ha.
