@winchester. I hate it when they jump at something and miss. It's even happened with my two youngsters.
With my late lotto when his arthritis got bad I dismantled two of his scratching things that had a box with a hole for them to sleep in. I put one by my bed and one by the coffee table. He used it to get into the coffee table and then to me. Poor baby. But they were a great help to him.

I don't buy them Christmas gifts... it always seems like I can't leave Petsmart without getting something small for them (or not so small.... impulse-bought new cat beds the other week, lol!) so they get Christmas all year long! They'll get gifts from my TCS Secret Santa, though :)

It has a hammock, well two kittly hammocks and three towers

and it stands about nine feet tall. Yay!

....Hiding it is going to be a problem.

Love the Cat It toys! I have a few tracks I got for my oldest on his birthday.

This year, I kept it simple and got each of them a toy filled stocking. They each have about 10 toys and some catnip inside. :)

I've asked my sister to look for stocking for them. Hope she finds them.

Same here. Xena gets things all year long, but she got things from my SS this year........ and I got her a musical giraffe that sings and raises it's neck, she loves it.

I bought my furbabies a six foot Go Pet Club cat tree, and a DaBird Go Cat Rod and Feather teaser.  The cat tree was reasonably priced, and had great reviews from other buyers on Amazon. Hope it is stable and durable. Might need to anchor it to the wall, although other buyers said they didn't have to.  There are some good deals on Amazon if you're looking for a cat tree.

I will not be getting my cat anything for christmas unless I find some unique toy that i can afford. I can't go to the store and buy some toys of mice and such they don't do anything for my cat. A couple years ago I was able to find a hamster that moves when you pull the tab. I also have bought a mat that crinkles and some toy that has balls but none of these last very long. Any tips on something reasonable would be nice no more than $10. He got a stocking last year but he didn't do much with the toys he played with them once if I threw them in his direction but thats it. Maybe another toy that moves.

Easy answer!
1. Fresh batteries for the laser pointer
2. Going to start growing and harvesting my own fresh catnip
3. All of the empty boxes from Christmas for the kids! I swear they use 3 or 4 boxes a year, and create their own kitty version of a secret clubhouse, at least that what it looks like, lol!
I don't bother much with expensive, or even cheap toys, they never want those. No, it's the bendy straw dug out of the trash, or digging into my Q-tips and Cotten balls, whee what fun! Between a crinkly little adorable toy, and the ring from my milk gallon jug, the plastic ring wins every time!

BooBoo is using the steps!
Mollipop, Muffin and I were laying back in the bed on Sunday night. Suddenly I saw this black head appear at the foot of the bed. It was Boo! Coming up the steps!
He came up the steps to the bed, walked up to me and meowed. It was like, "Mom! I did it! Using the steps!" I praised him and hugged him, even though he can't hear me.

And then last night, I was reading and saw him coming up the steps to bed. It made my heart feel good.

But I think he already got used to the praise.
When he got to the bed, he walked up to me and meowed again. So I praised him again and gave him a cuddle. And then he flopped down and went to sleep.
During the night, I felt him awaken and stretch. And I'm pretty sure he used the steps to get back off the bed....I didn't hear him jump down.

I need some fresh batteries for our laser pointer, too. I keep forgetting when I'm at the store.

pinkdagger pinkdagger This morning three 8-week-old kittens at the shelter were having a grand old time with their circuit (after I put it back together for them - they keep pulling the top off and removing the ball). It made me think of you.

Winchester Winchester Good for BooBoo! We used chairs and end tables to make "steps" for Jamie up to the window platforms in the living room and kitchen when he got feeble, and he very much appreciated them. He used the low nightstand to get up on the bed.

emlliverpool emlliverpool How about Da Bird?

@emlliverpool   DaBird is SO good.  It's worth saving up for.
Pretty much the best toys are cardboard boxes and they come pretty cheep, esp if you can get other people to buy stuff then give you the boxes.

it must have been so sweet seeing the little black head appearing over the top of the bed.
Well done Boo Boo.

That's why I bought the small cat tree.  It kind of has more of a "step" feel to it, 3
graduated levels stopping just about the height of the window.  Casper really isn't able to jump up high anymore.  Even our bed, which has a larger mattress has become difficult for him to get up on most days.  He'll stand there and wait for us to lift him most times.  Not that we mind.
you need to get him a box or something for him to climb on so he can get onto the bed by himself. I did that for my late lotto and by the coffee table to enable him to get to me.
