Yahoo...the vet just called and we have the second break we've had in a bad, bad year cat/vetwise. Larissa (the seal tortie and white whose photo I've posted here a couple of times) who is spilling bilirubin into her urine, has totally normal cbc and chem profile. This means her liver is fine! They now feel the bilirubin is simply due to her concentrated urine...equals since she's not drinking as much as one might wish, we will now give her wet food several times a day (oh horrors...Larissa honey, I have to feed you some tasty wet food now...).
We are also going to try using lactulose with her, since her other problems may be related to stool pressure on her bladder and discomfort in passing her stools.
I'm so grateful we don't have to worry that my little 5 y.o. girl is also ill.
