I'm new here. All the way from Holland! :)

Hey everyone,

My name is Anne and I am 24 years old. I live on my own with my three cats : Pim, Daisy and Lily.
I live in Holland, but I'd like to be part of an English forum since I think in Holland we are a bit behind comparing to USA for example.
Then I'm talking about medication. For example, most vets over here give metacam as a painkiller to cats. Sometimes for a long period. Even my cat (who passed away) with severe kidney failure should have had metacam due to my vet.
I've heard that this is not the usual way in the usa and metacam is even forbidden over there? Don't know if it's true.

However, sorry for my long story about this, and sorry for my bad English, but I was just trying to explain why I came here since I am from Holland.

I love cats a lot. They mean so much to me.
Pim is a black cat, he is five years old now.

Daisy is a tortie, she is 1,5 years old.

Lily is white/cypers and she is about 2 years old.

A few months ago, I had Lily as a foster mommy with her five foster kittens. I wanted a third cat for a long time, and Lily was and is so special to me. That's why I decided to keep her.

All her kittens found a good new home without going to the local shelter.

Lily has been a good mommy and it's nice to see her now. She doesn't have to take care of her babies anymore, she can be herself. She plays again and she cuddles me constantly.
She was brought in the local shelter with her 5 kittens , 1 week old. This was the second time she got kittens in a short period. She was a stray, however, people fed her and eventually brought her to the shelter when she had kittens - again.

I adopted Daisy from a shelter as well. She was 6 months old at the time. She is such a cutie.
Pim is here with me since he was a kitten.

I like doing creative stuff, like making items for cats and cat lovers. I have my own etsy shop and a Facebook page, but not sure if it's allowed to 'promote' here.

I also like horseback riding and photography.

No, unfortunately I don't have my own horse. I do see the horses 2 / 3 times a week, since I work on a farm. I'd love to have an own horse. I think that would be so awesome. But I can't afford having a horse myself.

I like photography, especially making photos of animals. I am not very good at it, but I hope to learn more about photography .

We also have a Tortie like your Daisy. Her name is Amber. My 9 y/o named her for the color of her eyes.Although her eyes look green in this photo.

Your cats are so cute! Lily sounds like she is very happy to be inside living the good life now.

I've never been able to afford my own horse either, but I go horse riding regularly so I'm happy with that.

Your cats are gorgeous, especially Lily. I love her big, pointed ears.

She looks a bit like my girl Lizzie.

This is Lily, second day she was here with me. Her kittens were about a week, eyes still closed.
So cute.. I miss them, they grew so fast! Lily was an amazing mommy and I am really proud of her. But from now on, she doesn't have to take care of others no longer. I'll take care of her.

Lily is so pretty and I too love her ears. I wonder if she'll grow into them or will they stay big.
Your cats are beautiful. I have two cats. Whisky an abandoned siamese. He'll be two this month and a black and white cat I took off the streets. He'll be two in another half a year. They're like litter mates.

Hoi Anne, I have also just joined this site after getting my first kitten in a very long time, I have also just returned from a weeks holiday in the Netherlands Doing some Christmas shopping( yes I bought treats for Cookie) And visiting my friends, there are some really nice pet shops in the Netherlands but they are a little hard to find!

Yes there are nice pet shops over here although I wish they were a bit bigger, haha.. Most of them are pretty small. Where do you live?

I live in the north west of England about half way between Manchester and Liverpool I stayed in Maarssen which is just north of Utrecht, I visited Nijmegen, Amsterdam for  dinner and to see a show at the Carre theater, also visited friends just outside Breda.

That´s nice to hear! I have never been in Maarssen. I like Amsterdam and Breda! Breda is not to far way from where I live, I like shopping over there!
