Hello all -- this is my first time posting, and thank you all for your help and community.

A month ago, I adopted a kitten from the shelter. A wonderful orange American Shorthair.

I noticed that his eyes began to get red and watery, and we took him to the vet for treatment. It turns out he got Feline Herpes, but is expected to recover with treatment.

I'm wondering if his eyes (which have now turned red) will return to their normal color (brown).

Thanks a ton for your help, all!

Love,

Roman S.

Hello and welcome to TCS

Has your cat been diagnoses with a general herpes infection (it can affect the eyes as part of a generalized URI), or was it Ocular herpes (herpatic lesion within the eye itself)?

When you say that your cat's eyes are red. Do you mean the entire eye is red? Can you perhaps post a picture?

Last, but not least, have you called your vet about this? He or she needs to be notified of the way the disease progresses.
