Hello, I have 2 kittens who are brothers. They are 7 months old and I have noticed that one has odd clicky knee, You can clearly see it when he walks but shows no sign of pain and he races around like a normal young kitty. Has anyone had experience of this? They both have had kitten vet visits so are both healthy in every other way but for the same kitten who has a bit of a heart murmur not quite a grade 1. Of course I am going to take him to the vet over the next week about this.

Hi and welcome to the site :wavey:

I'm sorry about your kitties clicky knee and I'm glad you are taking him to the vet.

It could be a range of things that are causing this. The main thing that comes to mind is slipping patella's also called patella luxatiion. This is pretty rare in cats but it does happen. I'm not saying this is what your kitty has, its just a possibility. ;)

Here's a link about it

Thank you for the welcome and the reply, does sound quite possible it could be this. His knee does seem to be displaced at times but then rights itself. The other day he was going in for a pounce on his brother and where cats move their back legs up and down before they strike I could hear it clicking quite loud. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at all from it or I would have taken him to the vets as a matter of urgency. Although sometimes he tends to stand and his hips stick out. Its very odd and guess I will have to wait and see what the vet thinks but I know from sites I have joined for my other pet have turned out at times to be just as knowledgeable as a vet :)
