My happy place.
We still have quite a few games from when our daughters were younger. When we have friends over for dinner we sometimes end up playing either Trivial Pursuit or Mouse Trap depending on how many glasses of wine have been drunk. :lol3:
We have a house full this Christmas so we will probably play Pictionary.

Rick and I are avid Scrabble players. We don't need a holiday, but we tend to play more during the colder months. We also have Cat-opoly, many of the Trivial Pursuit genres, The Logo Game (which is a lot harder than we thought it would be), Pictionary, among others. I love to play regular Monopoly, too. There's another game that Rick and I play, but, for the life of me, I can't remember what it's called. Will have to go home tonight and look it up.

Our son and I used to play a lot of Parcheesi, Trouble, Sorry, and Battleship....I think we still have the electronic Battleship in the basement.

When the grands are here, then it's Uncle Wiggley (love that game!) and Candyland. Oh and Chutes and Ladders.

We tend to play a lot of cards, too, when people visit us. We're good friends with several couples and we all get together for a game of Pit, Canasta, or Shang Hai Rummy. Rick and I will play Canasta, but that can get ugly....so can Scrabble sometimes. We both play for blood and it's not a pretty picture at all. He gets the game; I get the Scrabble dictionary and it just goes downhill from there.

I have a few games.  Twister, Life (2 versions), Monopoly, Scrabble, Uno, regular playing cards, Backgammon, Trouble, Chutes & Ladders, Candy Land, Memory and probably a few others.  A few are ones I've bought for my kids; some are left from my own childhood.  Twister and the newer version of Life were actually wedding presents.
When DH and I were dating and at that college age; groups of our friends would get together to play games.  (No drinking involved, despite the stereotype for that age group.
)  So when DH and i got married; that was what one of the Groomsmen got for us because he knew I loved playing Life.  I don't remember ever playing Twister at that age though.

ETA: I just went to look; I still have Pictionary Junior!  I can't wait till my kids are big enough to play that!!

oh Canada~
I don't have any board games. My family never played them together since my parents were often obligated by work and my brothers were too old to want to play most things with me by the time I was old enough to learn. My boyfriend and his family LOVE their tabletop board and card games, so they keep trying to make me play (his mother is SO aggressive in bid euchre!), but he has a lot of board games here. The one I recognize is Scrabble, but they're otherwise hidden in the closet and brought out when I'm gone out.

Scrabble, Boggle, and Pigs.

I like word games but my spelling is rubbish and I always need a dictionary of some kind to check with.  I'm not really competitive either and will play them alone sometimes just to pass time and see what I can come up with, and if I play with friends it usually ends up as some kind of communal think tank and we help each other out.
Most recent was with one of my Italian lodgers and both of us using a dictionary, checking out the words and seeing what we could come up with.

The Pigs is pure fun and used to play it with nieces / nephews and friends' kids when they were little as it can be played really fast when they are learning to take turns, and with a big variation in ages because it's pretty much chance how it works out.   Haven't played it for a while but keep it in the cupboard as it doesn't take up any space and who knows when the next round of 'little people' will start up.
