In prior posts I mentioned adding a 5 month old kitten to our household of a 17 yr old girl cat and 19 yr old boy cat 2 months ago. Besides basic hissing, etc., we have not encountered severe behavior issues until this morning (of course the situation isn't great, but has been getting better). The girl cat who has been ok with the kitten urinated on our floor heating vent in our bedroom and an hour later my husband noticed her acting oddly and rushed her to her litterbox where she urinated on the floor next to the box (the litter was cleaned last night, so no issues there). We have a feliway diffuser in the lower living room and our bedroom.
Any advice on how to get the smell out? It seems to be drifting through our house now through connected vents.
She does not have a UTI (confirmed by our vet). Our heating vent smells AWFUL even after trying to clean what I could reach with Nature's Miracle and Spot Shot for Pets. We have a call into our vet, but they aren't open yet.
