I adopted a cfa registered sphynx kitten (neutered) from a breeder and had taken him to the vet only to find that he has worms in his stool. So I was given more dewormers from the vet. I know its common in kittens, but I feel as though I should have been warned ahead of time from the breeder. But anyways..will these worms eventually go away and how long? My next vet visit wont be until i finish the 2 dosage they had given me so that would be 20 days.. Im scared he may even have other problems, FIP, HCM etc etc. Sounds like itll be ecpensive to get tests done.

It's a big jump from worms to serious illnesses.  I don't know anything about the breeder that you got your kitten from but I do know that it's very common for kittens to have worms.  The breeder probably does routinely deworm kittens.  Your kitten may have been reinfected or the dewormer may not have completely killed all of them.  It's pretty common for kittens to need multiple rounds of dewormer.

Your kitten is really cute.  I didn't used to care for the looks of sphynx cats but they have kind of grown on me.

Thank you! I used to be not fond of them the first time I saw them haha. But now I love them!
I told the breeder he had worms and there was no response. But thats fine..Oh and I would like to add the breeder said they do not really need to be bathed..I was very skeptical ..I still goy him though..I felt sad for him I guess . I gave him a bath the 2nd day I had him and he was sooo much more creamy looking! And he purred the whole bath time! What luck! But the water was filthy brown.
He is my only kitten and surely will be spoiled and have great care!
And yeah the Vet said it may take a few more rounds to take care of the pesky worms&eggs. I noticed his stool is getting more solid but very huge as if he has been holding it in for a while.

The breeder saying that they don't need bathed is more worrying than the kitten having worms.  I don't know much about them but I do know that they need regular bathing.  I have heard different times between baths, I have heard weekly, biweekly and monthly so I don't know what is best for amount of bathing but they do need regular baths.

Yeah that's what I thought too from researching online for like the past few months before getting a sphynx. I have also cleaned his ears and his claws.. I think he may need weekly baths. He is very active and runs around a lot haha. Dirty paws.

There are a few members here who own Sphinx cats. Just search "Sphinx" and send them a PM. They do need to be bathed regularly, but how often I don't know. It sounds to me like your breeder is either inexperienced or just plain uninformed.

It is common to have to worm kittens a few times. The eggs are passed to them through their mother's milk. The wormer from the vet should knock them out no problem.

Did your vet recommend the genetic disease tests? It's possible that the breeder has had the parents tested to,see if they are carriers. If the parents are not carriers of the bad genetics, then testing is not necessary.

Just ask your breeder. If she's legit and registered with CFA, she should be doing genetic testing.
