I think my. 6year old calico girl may have got very sticky bug poison on 3 of her paws. It's almost glue like. I was trying to clean it off her(Not very successfully) when she freaked out at me. I dropped her and she ran outside. Now i can't find her and am very very worried. Any advise?

I'm sorry to hear about this.  Any luck finding her yet?  Do you live in an area where you have neighbours you could check with to see if they have seen her.  It might also help to call local shelters to see if she has been picked up.  If you are able to find her I'd take her into the vet right away.  She will probably be trying to lick off the adhesive herself.  Please keep us posted if you can!

Hi Amberger,

If you've found your cat and she still has bug poison on her paws sprinkle some flour over the sticky parts. This will absorb the stickiness and will stop her from trying to lick it off. Then you need to get her to the vet so they can clean her up and treat her for any toxins she may have swallowed.

One of my cats managed to get herself covered in glue a few years ago and the vet said flour is the best thing to cover her with until you can get her seen to as it stops everything else sticking to her.

Hope she's OK, keep us posted.

The flour was great my vet said it was the best thing I could have done so thank you very much Norachan. She's home, healthy and safe now. Thank you both for the advise and well wishes
