I am about to try Blue Walnut Pellet cat litter out of desperation - has anyone tried this?

I have been using Dr Elseys clay litter. As far as clay litter (in the USA) I think it's the best. Nothing added at all and they say  they filter it as much as possible for dust. But I am getting worried about my male rescue kitty licking this clay residue ( you can't stop it) daily.

I've searched for hours on the internet. I would use Feline Pine but apparently Arm & Hammer bought them and ruined it. I looked for pine pellets elsewhere but it's meager pickings.

So my local "Green" pet food store said they use this Blue Walnut for their store cat and customers like it. Complaints are that it is dark brown and tracks. Also do I want him to lick up walnut? What can I do? I even considered dirt as a natural solution - but you know, it's kind of horrible sounding - and I def don't want bugs. I'm not concerned about odor, I scoop twice a day.

Well, thanks. If anyone has any thoughts I appreciate it.

I use the BB pellet litter for all of our kittens and those that have to be crated while sick or recovering from surgery. I was previously using Yesterday's News with has almost no odor control IMO. I like the BB much better.

I have also used the clumping BB litter. It is somewhat dusty and it doesn't clump as well as I would like.

Oh brilliant! Thank you so much!  I'm going to give it a shot and will feed back but it's really reassuring to hear from someone using it. Cheers!

(Yeah, I heard less favorable reviews about the clumping/powder form.)

I use Blue Buffalo Walnut. My cats love it and I love it.  It doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter pan like clay. It doesn't have that perfumy smell. It smells earthy.  I scoop a lot, but a bag lasts a lot longer than clay litter. It does track, but I put litter mats in front of their boxes and use a shop vac to vacuum up any that is tracked outside the box.

My one and only "dislike" of the walnut litter is that it turns my kitty's white fur on her paws brown.  I can actually live with that, though.  We use the clumping litter and it clumps hard, controls odors, and my kitties love it.  We mix it with World's Best Cat litter and we change the box about every 3 weeks.  I have 4 cats and they all use it without problems.
