Hi all!! I am hoping this will be a fun but also informative thread!! As a new cat owner (and I am sure many new cat owners!) wonder: does my cat love me! Haha I know it sounds like a silly question and of course all cats are different but how does YOUR furbaby show their love for you!? It may give me some insights into my own cat's behavior :)

I should have probably mentioned what Kittems does that I believe to be love or maybe more accurately, affection!

- looks at me from across the room or bed/couch and gives me a slow blink "the cat wink"
- purrs when I give her scratches
- follows me around the house
- sits next to me on the couch
- 'offers' her head to me for a pat
- bunts my hand, face if lying down, or knee if sitting on the ground with her (sometimes not all the time)
-recently she groomed me too but this seems to be a one off!
-let's me pick her up even though her previous owner said she didn't like that!

In fact she is sitting with me now as I type this haha!

My girl seems to know when I'm low and will come up, give me a few licks and then curl up for a cuddle.

Arya, my 18 week old white with blue coat on top DSH, will: purr, jump on my lap, come comfort me if I am upset, rub against my face, groom me, head bump me, and while I'm exercising will tap me on the back from the table and then jump up on my shoulders and wander like a parrot.

Balerion, my 9 week old black kitten with silver stripes, will: purr immediately when I pet him for whatever reason, jump onto my chest and run into his "safe spot" on my left shoulder, sleep on me, purr when I play with him, rub against my face, nose bump me (don't think he understands the "head bump" as he was taken from his mom at 4 weeks, and I hand raised him), and sleeps very near me at all times.

My Phoebe is partial to me (vs. my wife!).  If I'm sitting down she just walks over and head butts me and stays there so I'll pet her head & neck.  Then she looks up and just looks at me with dreamy eyes.  She's so beautiful and I love it when she wants to snuggle!

I think we have all wondered at one time or another if our cat(s) love us.  They are wonderful and mysterious at the same time.  If you kitty is doing all or even some of the things you listed, I think you can be assured she loves you.  If she didn't, she would avoid you, hiss and growl at you and just want nothing to do with you.  I have two cats, one younger and the other is a senior.  They each have their own way of showing their love.  More comforting to me is knowing that they understand they are loved and that means more to me than anything.   Enjoy your little fur baby.

Everything that the above posts said - plus Tippytoes just looks at me and there is no denying the love in her eyes. Each night she waits for her kiss goodnight.
Tony is just a love-bug all around.
Angel adores Paul -she's "man crazy" - but she lives on his lap, puts her head against his chest and completely is in love with him. No doubt about it.

I don't think you needed to ask the question. She obviously loves you very much. Enjoy her.

I adore my cats but it seems to go one.way. blighty nags for strokes and purs like a tractor but he does that to anybody he knows. Whisky will sit between my knees for hours but that's all the love I get. I'm very unhappy about it.
All my other cats were lap cats and slept
with me. Oh dear.sigh. :'(

I had a cat a few years back who would gently bite my nose, close his eyes and purr.  What an incredible feeling.  The first time he did that brought tears to my eyes...particularly since he was the type to try to rip his vet's arm off or do in my mum's Alaskan malamute.
