Thank you! I wonder if I use some of the dog food and just add Taurine if that would be ok.I am almost out of the last big batch of food I made. I forgot to order from HT in time and do not have time to make my own. ( 30 people coming here for Christmas).I am going commercial raw until after Jan. 5th when I can order from HT again.

They recently changed up their packaging because before there was no difference between the dog or cat raw food. Taurine was included in both and the bags were for both cats/dogs. The raw dog does not contain taurine anymore so if you have the new updated bags then you could add the taurine.

The feline NV formula is so much more expensive now than when it was for both dogs and cats. My cat was eating the rabbit and pork, since the change I switched over to Primal Pronto rabbit bites (although the larger bags of nuggets are more affordable), and a single protein also- no pork.

I agree. The company probably made the distinction and change for money. Taurine is perfectly safe to give to dogs and has some benefit to them as well. The difference is that dogs can synthesize taurine in their bodies and cat's can't BUT dogs still need taurine and having it in the food is absolutely fine. And, some dogs may suffer from taurine deficiency in relation to certain diseases and may need to have taurine added to their diets. If dealing with heart disease, the deficiency can lead to enlarged heart size. Anyway - there was no need to make that change, IMO, and now they have a reason to bump the price, I guess.

Yes, you can add taurine to the dog Raw Bites or any of the other NV raw dog food
