hey guys,

I'm thinking of trying out Herbalife to maintain my weight together with my gym program. I'm not sure about it. Any of you guys tried or heard before of Herbalife??

Once when I was looking for work in San Diego I answered an ad for Herbalife. It is a pyramid sales program. For weight maintenance you best bet is exercise and and omnivour diet. Americans eat meat like they were carnavours. A slow consistant weight lose with a change in life style is the better way to go. There is more success in keeping the weight off.

Just some thoughts,

You're welcome Kate, and good luck!
Oh yeah, and I've read a fair bit about ephedra based products myself, as I know someone who wanted to try a similar product called hydroxycut and they had asked me if I had read anything about it.

Herbalife is bad.. Some people lose really well on ephedra (my one friend lost about 40 pounds in a few months) BUT the health risks aren't worth it. Especially when you give an already overweight person something that increases blood pressure and heart rate when a conditioned athlete can't even torelate it. After losing all of that weight, my friend got off of it after realizing the consequences and although she gained a little bit back, she has not returned to it. There are better ways to lose weight, like decreasing your refined sugar intake and increasing your whole grain intake while eating lean protein. The low carb diets are not good unless you eat healthy, yes you'll lose weight eating greasy sausage four times a day with nothing else, but you will also do a considerable amount of damage to your body in the process.

Basically there is no easy way to lose weight, there is no magic pill.. I've been eating rabbit food practically for a month now (minus the bag of chocolate covered graham crackers LOL) and I've only lost about 3-5 pounds. I should exercise but I can't motivate myself..

And a recent study says women who eat a high amount of whole grains daily not only lose weight easier but keep that weight off for a much longer amount of time then women who do not eat whole grains. Of course they come out with something new every day, but this one actually sounds healthy for once.

Hey! I thought we humans were originally carnavours?? Hunters and gatherers...

We have to be careful on this list not to assume everyone is an American though. kateang isn't an American, she's in/from Singapore. She sure sounds like one when she talks though, huh? She's great!

I did it for a while. I can't say I didn't like it cause I did. I loved the shakes. This was quite a few years ago. Way before the epheda scare came out so I can't even tell you what was in everything.

I do agree that doing it the natural way is the way to go but I can't say that it's an awful thing to get that extra little bit of help if it motivates you.

Read all the ingredients and pick what you feel is safe for you if you decide to try it.

I believe Herbalife has tons of products and none of them have the same ingredients in them.

Just don't use this as a permanent solution to weight loss.

Oh yeah.... and don't let them rope you into selling it cause trust me, they will try to convince you of how much money you will save if you sign up and become a rep.

Whatever you decide.... good luck!
