About a year ago I noticed that the Very tip of my cats tail is at a very odd angle ... about a 30 degree angle off the main bone. It had long since healed but she still seems a bit iffy about me touching it. I am thinking that my oldest rat Apollo accidentally broke it grabbing it , He really didnt know his jaw strength( rats love fluffy things they are OBSESSED with cat tails, my dogs feet etc) Now Emma was raised with the rats so my home is a bit different than most situations.

My question is should I worry, have it looked at etc? I keep forgetting to bring it up to the vet.

I seem to have odd animals... One has a broken tail tip, one has a rib that faces the wrong way ( this we did get checked by a vet) both from their own silly actions as a baby. Neither reacted when it happened either.

I know that kitty tail injuries can be more serious than they appear to be.  Since she has had it for quite a while I doubt that it is serious but I would ask the vet about it the next time you are there.  Some kitties are very iffy about their tails being handled even when there is no injury.

I just noticed I didn't say how much of her tail. Its less than an inch of the tip. She is protective of her tail now and carries it over her back. But when I do touch it I seem to be more disturbed by it than Emma.

Emma ... I should have known to watch her better she isn't the best judge of anything, once she turned around and burnt her tail fur on a candle ( and never noticed) and as a kitten she would stare at nightbulbs so we had to turn then off because we worried about her eyes. My kitty certainly shows at times that she is inbred and wasn't raised in a house.
