I have been caring for a feral colony for almost 3 years and the neighbor have tried to poison them, threatened to shoot them and reported them to the Rahway Health Dept and Animal Control. I am trying to raise enough money to relocate them to One More Smith Sanctuary in Chester, NJ - the required donation is $250 per cat. Whiskers Rescue is covering the expenses to get the last fee cats fixed and we are scheduled to start this relocation project on 12/1. There re approximately 10 cats and we are hoping to relocate as many together as possible. Please share this link to help raise enough money by then. I will post pics and videos of the cats when they are brought to the sanctuary and documentation of all donations going there.

Yes, I have been around for this colony of 10-12 cats for 2-3 years. Originally, they were in my backyard and then my neighbors complained so I had to move their feeding station to an abandoned house down the block from my house. Since then, the complaints have gotten worse. Neighbors have threatened to shoot or poison the cats by crushing glass and feeding in tuna. They have reported the cats to animal control and the health dept. I received 4 certified letter from te health dept threatening to summon me to court if I am seen feeding or providing water for these cats once more. Additionally, te house they're living at will eventually be torn down - it was disused at the town meeting in Rahway last month. So, I have found a sanctuary that will accept them for a $250 donation per cat if they are all fixed and vetted, One More Smith Sanctuary in Chester, NJ. I have visited them and met with the owners. There are 2-3 cat still not fixed in this colony and Whiskers Rescue has offered to cover the cost of vetting them. I am only raising money for the donation to the sanctuary. There were 4 friendly cats there and Lexibgton Animal Hospital in Clark has offered to foster 3 of them so they are there now. There is one more friendly white cat there and the rest are feral. I am trying to find the white cat a home and bring the ferals to the sanctuary starting next week.

Stray For Us rescue in Rahway has paid for the other cats to be fixed so at with a grant they had but that grant ran out, which is why Whiskers Rescue is helping with the rest.

I cannot afford court fees and taking time off of work to go to court for these complaints and I cannot stand the thought of these cats going hungry in this col wether, so I am trying to relocate them ASAP. I am also looking for help trapping them to finish getting them fixed of bring to the sanctuary depending on who we catch first, because I only have one trap.

I have reported the neighbor who tried to poison them to the ASPCA and they came to their house and threatened them with legal action if anything happens to the cat but then they came to my house and said if there are too many cats they need to report them to animal control, who they explained will trap and euthanize them. :/. So I'm trying to get them out!!

Hi everyone. Many of you know me, as I've been a member on The Cat Site for years now. I just wanted to mention that RahwayFerals is someone I am acquainted with locally.  She lives in my town and we know some of the same people in the rescue world.  Once she mentioned one very specific name, the person we rescued Cocoa from, I felt satisfied that what I was being presented was in fact truth.

I'm always hesitant about these types of calls for help as everyone should be, and I personally grilled her but good about it privately.  After many back and forth emails I'm satisfied that she says she is who she is and that she's doing the work she says she's doing.  I've also written about this situation on this site several times, wondering how I could help the ferals in my area.  I'm happy to see someone is actually doing something concrete about it, as I personally have not been able to do so thus far.  We have plans to meet  in person in a few weeks.

Caveat As usual, make your own judgement call but, I am confident at this point in time that she's legit.

@RahwayFerals  welcome to our community.  I hope that you not only get the help you need but join us on the site by posting elsewhere, not just in this forum.  You have knowledge to impart and could be of use to many others.
