i travel but am from texas
i heard today that a man who has a cat was feeding him deli cat food by purina,caused his cat to have urinary peoblems which created a 300 dollar vet bill..has anyone heard of this happening becuz of this particular food???

he said only male cats cause he also has a female an she was fine.the vet said it was the cat food..i am feeding my punkin an friskie this brand...thanks so much for your help if u can

There is a new study out that links dry kibble with the accumulation of stones and UTI- so that may be why.

so would it be advisable to just start feeding my babies wet catfood..r what brand is a good one to feed them

It is an individual choice. I feed both to my crew. The study is talked about widely, but I'll be darned if I can actually find it yet. If you think about it, a cat eats (normally) small prey. rodents, birds etc- all of which are about 70% water. Then along comes man and he makes an *easier* food for him to handle keeping around, and then expects them to adapt to it. Some do, and some don't. As long as your cats are drinking plenty of water and getting good quality food, you should be alright.

thanks hissy,i am just worried cuz of what this person told me about deli cat food..an yes i keep them fresh water down all the time.an i also keep pounce treats for them as well..my husband says we can get them a different brand fo cat food so i was thinkin about changeing it to either iams are something...
