Hi, my cat got her ears cleaned 27days ago and all nightmare started from there.

She came home, could not hear a thing, could not walk, eat or drink.

Got prednisone prescribed. Did not poop for 2 weeks.

Got enema once then lactulose second time. I did not feed her enough ofcorse as only syringe needed was possible.

Now she started to poop on her own, but not eating or drinking and i manage to give her 100ml of food a day.

She seems to be full as she sleeps all the time and does not spend any energy.

Can anyone tell me if 100ml can be enough food for a sick cat?

I am worried that i am under feeding her and her anorexia or getting of steroids won't get ever get better.

She has light stage of K/D and is fed the special food.

She just refuses to eat more.

Is it coz she did not eat for a long time and it takes time to get used to bigger amount of food or she is just full?

I touch her stomach and it looks full.

She won't let me feed her but when she really feels full she starts to fight and bight and i am scared to over feed her so she will vomit.

i only feed her 2 times a days and worry that more then 40ml is too much for her in one go...some vets said its ok to give her half of a can at once, some say not more then 40ml. i am so confused and yes the best part is vets just don't tell me what is with her, they just say keep feeding...

Please anyone can tell me if some cats require less food and if giving her subQ every second day (50ml) would be a good idea?

Thanks,

It sounds to me that your cat's problems are more serious than food, that it may have started with poor medical care, and it seems to me she needs a full diagnostic work up, possibly with another vet.  After the ear cleaning, did your vet explain what happened?  Was there a diagnosis?

i agree with the above poster. the cat needs a second opinion from a different vet.

Definitely get the opinion of another vet. If you've been dealing with the same clinic this entire time, please try finding a new one to get an entirely fresh perspective. Cats sleep a lot, but constant lethargy and minimal intake is not a good thing.
