My female Persian is only 5 to 6 pounds so she is a little thing.  She is extremely hard to deal with and seems afraid of everything.  Obviously she gets stressed out easily and ends up getting 'colds' because of the stress I think.  I give her Lysine daily in the form of Viralys gel.  For the past week or so she has had lots of sneezing and her nose is pretty wet and runny.  I took her to an old time local vet instead of driving to a bigger town that is 30 miles away and taking a chance of her stressing out more in the car ride.  Anyways he gave her a shot of 'something' - not sure what but I am guessing it was a steroid and said she needed antibiotics.  He prescribed this Orbax oral medicine and he also put a shot of prednisone in it.  He said to start the meds tonight but I am frightened of it since I have never heard of it before and I am always frightened of any kind of medicine with my baby.  Could anyone comment on this medication and any side effects it had on their cat?

I wouldn't guess as to what your vet gave by injection, i'd ask or look at the invoice.  Personally i wouldn't let my vet give any medication without them explaining what it is and why they are giving it, so if you're extra concerned about meds  then i expect you would want this info too.  Call your vet and ask.  Orbax is an antibiotic, see link below.  It sounds like your cat may have feline herpes (hence the lysine) and that she is having a flare up. :(
