Tinley Park Illinois area;

I have 2 amazing cats that I have raised when they were both kittens. They are now 10 & 12 years old. They are indoor cats and completely house broken. They have never urinated anywhere but in their litter box. They do not walk on counter tops and tables. They are sooo lovable and very well behaved for cats and get along well together. I would not want them separated. Their names are Lusha & Sushi.

I have developed extreme respiratory and sinus issues over the past couple of years and the doctors cannot seem to find the source of the problem other then that I may be allergic to my cats. I find relief when I am not around them but when I return back home, It is real difficult for me to breath... I keep a very clean house. Friends that come over always tell me that they would never know I had cats because there is no odor or cat hair around but yet I seem to have issues when I am home with the cats.

Sushi (10 yrs) is a miniature black Persian and has long hair and I get her groomed/shaved and still it does not help.  Sushi is very sweet cat and good with people/kids but she is very shy and hides when people come over.

Lusha (12yrs) is a Korat and LOVES to be brushed and has beautiful coat of Grey hair. Very friendly cat! Loves people/kids. LOVES attention!

I travel a lot and have left them home up to 3 days max and never had any problems with them. I just make sure to have a clean extra large litter box and food and water so if you need weekend getaways, this will not be a problem with my cats.I think it helps that they have each other when I'm gone.

I have all supplies and bedding for them.

It breaks my heart to have to give them up. I will NOT  send them to an animal shelter for adoption because you never know where they will end up and I do not want them separated.

If there is anyone out there that is a cat lover and would take very good care of my cats, please contact me.

Thank you  :(

Very sorry to hear about your allergies and that you have to re-home your elderly cats. Yes - 10 and 12 yrs. old is senior. It would be best to find a home on your own as you are trying to do. Here on this site most of us are all rescuers and have toooooooo many cats already. I would suggest calling friends, family and you could even post a flyer on the cats at surrounding vets in the area. I do have a suggestion since they are purebred cats or at least have purebred lineage. You could contact Purebred Specialty in Kenosha, WI. They have a large list of foster families. This is not a shelter but a foster network to re-home purebred cats. You could try them and see if they are willing. Great group of loving cat people. http://www.purebredcatrescue.org/available-for-adoption-10 I am not sure if they take older kitties though but certainly give them a call.

On a side note. You say that you may be allergic but are not positive. I think there are actual tests to find out exactly what may be causing your symptoms. It could very well be something in the home environment and not the cats at all. An article here on site http://www.thecatsite.com/a/living-with-cat-allergy I know of many people who have cat allergies and still keep their cats. Rinsing the cats with distilled water once a week will help tremendously to keep the dander from their saliva off of their coats. This was a lifesaver to a friend of mine. You can also keep the cats shaved/groomed. There are many allergy medications/supplements as well. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
