The main thing is to keep her WARM! Five weeks is too young to be without her mother, is mom around? If so the best thing to do would be to make some kind of shelter to try to keep them warm and lots of food, which outside animals need a lot more of to survive. If mom is not around, she will not survive outside. Keep her warm and give her lots of canned food mixed with kitten replacement milk you can get at Walmart or pet stores. If you can't find that, then goat's milk in the milk section. Bless you for taking in that baby, she will not survive without you!

Good advice, though by 5 weeks (if she is actually that old) the kitten should be able to regulate her body heat okay on her own for the most part.  Still better safe than sorry.  I agree at this age her chances of being able to survive on her own (outside or otherwise) are nonexistent.

Have you tried to feed her? Id buy both KMR and also some wet food and see where she is right now- she might be old enough to take to the wet food all by itself right away, she might be able to take it mixed with KMR, or she might still not know what to do with anything that's not KMR.

Can you post a picture so we can get a better idea of how old she is?

Thank you for helping this baby.
