Sorry for being super late! I was out of town this weekend and a combination with catching up with friends and family and a crappy internet connection put me behind on my question.

 

If you could name five things that are most nostalgic from your childhood, what would they be?

I think for me, it would be

- Sailor Moon

- Pogs

- Fruit Roll Up/Fruit By The Foot/Gushers style snacks

- Bop It

- Freeze Tag

Along with Mortal Kombat, these are prominent memories of being 9 and under.

Monopoly

Playing softball in the neighborhood

Riding my bike (I was covered in merthiolate and iodine throughout my childhood, I think)

Swimming in the fishing hole at Grandma's (and my cousin and I using Grandma's front porch railing as a "horse")

Camping

What is Sailor Moon?

Going with my dad to see the Washington Senators play baseball.

Playing baseball.

Riding my bike.

Playing Clue.

Hershey almond bars.

Roller skating.
Simon (electronic memory game).
Swimming with my best friend every Saturday.
Spangles (sweets that are no longer around).
Playing runouts (like hide and seek but outside, you have to make it back to 'base' without getting caught).

Oh to be young again........:lol3:

1. Kitty-Cat, she was my sweet, smart, furry childhood companion

4. kindly neighbor lady who always welcomed me into her home and fed me her homemade bread & homemade salty dill pickles 

5. my "blankie" which right now is in the other room, lol

1. Miss Muffet, my calico playmate

2. Reading and drinking Pepsi under a tree all summer

3. Playing red light green light until dark with the neighborhood kids

4. Wading in the river and catching tadpoles

5.Tending my 'zoo' in the backyard (raccoons, pigeons, rabbits, snakes, lizards and turtles.)

Only 5? Aww.

You and I must be close in age.  The only one of those I don't know is Nosey Bears. (ETA: I looked them up.  I remember them now; I just don't think I ever had one. Someone I knew did.)

1. Standing in front of the glass case and picking out your own candy at the corner store. "i'll take 1¢ worth of those, and 3¢ of those...no, wait ..."

2. Massive games of hide-and-seek.

3. Running under all the sprinklers in the neighbourhood.

4. Staying outside for hours in the winter building forts and not feeling the cold.

5. My Grandma's cookie jar.

1. Flipping baseball cards
2. Stratomatic baseball
3. Stoop ball with a Spaldeen or Pensy Pinkie
4. Making trains and planes with our sleds and going down a hill with like 6 kids at a time.
5. Endless card games like war with my sister.
6. Dad's homemade potato pancakes for Saturday morning breakfast.

- Various tv shows (Xena Warrior Princess, Wishbone, Bill Nye the Science guy etc)

-Trick or Treating.

-Spending time in the library, looking for new books to read. And then of course read to my hearts content! With a yummy snack. I looooved the library, and still love, along with bookstores.

-My Little Pony, Nano Pet, Furbies etc

-Hanging out with my GrandPapa


Honourable mentions: Playing big imaginary outdoor games with friends, Spice Girls, family pets, that bowl shaped haircut that almost every boy in the 90's had, various sports and so forth!
