I have spent $900.00 which most of it was a loan on my kitten that has recurring absesses on his left cheek. I am desperate to find alternative tips on how to possibly safe my kitten's life!!! He had 2 surgeries by 2 different doctors and 4 lances. He also was on Amoxicillian 250mg.for 14 days and Baytril 11.3 mg. for 30 days then 14 more days [after the Amoxicllan]. As soon as the antibiotics are stopped he developes a lump in his neck [lymph nodes]? then he developes an absess in his left cheek within 72 hrs after the antibiotic is stopped. My latest Vet requested that I euthanize the kitten because he said the infection should have responded to 58 days of antibiotics and the 2 surgeries. Does anybody know of another cat that had a similar problem and was cured by holistic or alternative medicines??? PLEASE TRY TO HELP ME HELP THIS VERY LOVING,SWEET LITTLE BOY TABBY NAMED FOXY!!!!!!!!!!!! I realize that this is a forum and I can not expect professional advice however I am desperate to try and help save my little boy's life!!! This is his last chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I promise I will not hold anything against anybody who gives me any tips,I promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely,Rosa Bood

I haven't heard that any vet has suggested a sample be taken from each area to be cultured which I find ridiculous. I also haven't heard that either vet tested your kitty for FIV. This does make a big difference in recovery time and recurrence. I had a Tomcat with this problem and it ended up being a bacterial strain from him messing with a dead bird. Unfortunately he was aged and FIV+ and it was 20 years ago so I had to put him down. I think things have advanced today and you have a young Cat so there is more hope. I'm sorry you have had to do through this but I think we have all been the victim of the unimaginative vet. I would take your kitty for a drive to Orlando to see a Cat specialist because there should be an answer to this. I know of a Cat hospital on the southwest end and a cat specialist in north Orlando. I'll be happy the send you their info.

hexiesfriend I'm so thankful that you replied, thank you! I will let you know if I decide to see the Vet in Orlando however I have a couple of Holistic Vet's names that were given to me this evening by a couple friends. Their Vets are much closer to me than Orlando and since I don't have a car I will contact Vets that are closer to me first. Thanks again. Sincerely,Rosa P.S. Foxy is FIV and Leukemia negative.
