Hello everyone:

I recently adopted a new kitten from our local Humane Society.  We had her fixed before bringing her home, but on the bottom of her, there's mostly bald spots.  Will the hair grow back?

Also, she's been sneezing a lot.  What could this mean?

Also, she likes to be very naughty often and one of the things she does that I'm afraid of is chew on cords.  What can I do to discipline her?

Also, she was fixed on Monday, we adopted her Tuesday, she would do a bit of playing and then Wednesday night, she threw up a few times.  We were told that when we adopted her that she needs to not be playing a whole lot and jumping.  Is it bad for a cat to eat and then run around like crazy?  I'm curious of as to why she threw up.  It hasn't happened anymore since that night.

Congratulations on your new kitty
.  Be prepared for some sleepless nights now
So we'll need a little more information, I'm thinking.  How old is this little one?  Do you have other cats in your home?  Other animals?  Ever had a cat before?  (I see this isn't your first post, but you haven't posted much for being a long time member)

First off, you said she has bald spots on her bottom side...do you mean her tummy?  She will have been shaved for her spay job, I'm certain.  That fur should grow back.

As to the sneezing, almost any cat from a shelter will come with an Upper Respiratory Infection
.   She may have already been an antibiotic when she was spayed, so I would give them a call and ask.  If so, that may cover the URI too.  Ask them about it and see you should bring her back in for that or not.

Kittens WILL be "naughty".  They are just babies, after all.  They are excited, want to play all the time, want to investigate, probably teething (thus the chewing) and are furballs full of energy
.  You cannot really discipline cats.  As far as chewing on cords go, some people cover the cords up with "cord covers" (not sure of the official term for them)  Here's a thread on cats chewing on cords that you might find useful:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/267693/chewing-on-cords-i-cant-plug-anything-in

As to the throwing up, since it was a one time thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it.  Could have just been excitement, or even stress because she was in a new place, could have been a change in food, could have been so many things.  As long as she isn't doing it any more, then it's pretty normal for a brand new adoption.

Lastly, it's perfectly normal for a kitten to eat, then play like crazy, then sleep.  And repeat
