Good morning and Happy Friday!

One of the things I for my job is site inspections. I do get paid for my mileage, so I tend to keep track of where I'm at throughout the week. Which leads me to my question for today:

How far do you drive to work (or to school) and how long does it take you to get to work (or school)?

It is 7.5 miles from the top of my driveway to my parking space at work. It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic and how many school buses I get behind. A straight shot to work with no traffic lights and no school buses is usually about 10 minutes.

Almost 8km (just under 5 miles) one way to school, about 20-30 minutes by bus (depending on how reliable the buses decide to be), and about 900m (half a mile) to work, or about 15 minutes walking depending on how many slow-walking school children are in front of me.

0 miles!  It takes approximately 24 seconds to walk from my bedroom to my kitchen.

My last job was only 6 miles from home.  It took about 12 minutes to get there and 15 to get home.

My longest commute was 46 miles and took about an hour if the weather was good.  I hated it.  At least it was only 3 days a week (one was in a closer location and I only worked 4 days...but sometimes 40 hours in those 4 days...)  I really really do not miss that commute!

Half a mile to the train station - 3 minutes.

But then, 2 HOURS total door to door from my house in NJ to my office in NYC

It take a bit less coming home usually - about 1-1/2 hours.

Commuting = awful

I live about 2 miles from work, so less about 5 minutes to get there. What Im really LOVE about my work (Public Schools) is that if the weather is bad, like a blizzard, NO SCHOOL!!!

Living so close is so convenient!

Last year during an ice storm, I got on the bus at 7am for an 8am class. When my bus was 1 stop from the school, my friend texted me and said "Terry (our perpetually late teacher) isn't coming because of the weather" so I just stayed on the bus and went on a big loop to catch another bus home. I wish colleges would decide closings by 6am and always erring on the side of safety to save us all some time!
I liked being in elementary and high school when the buses wouldn't run and that'd be my excuse to stay home, even when I started driving myself in grades 11 and 12.

About 20 minutes by bus, 10 minutes by car. It's just a straight major road too, so it's very quick even with heavy traffic.

Driving takes 5-7 minutes, walking approx 45 minutes.

I live in a small city, moved from NYC-and I laugh when they think there is rush hour traffic.

I'm lucky enough to work at home. (Very lucky, because I don't drive and I live in the middle of nowhere.)

I teach English as a second language and all my lessons are done online, so all I have to do is walk downstairs and turn my computer on.
