Russian Blue and Domestic Short hair

I joined this site originally to introduce my 10 months Russian blue kitten and 12 year old DSH. Unfortunately I have been very busy until now rescuing a stray that was involved in a road traffic accident which took about one month to nurse back to health:

Please meet Milaya Faina Trozayar ''Faya'' the 10 months old Russian blue that I imported from a respected breeder in Moscow and Lolita ''Lolly'' My 12 year old who joined me from the UK.

We currently live in Dubai and my cats are still trying to get used to each other and their new home.

Lolly is the grumpy 12 year old DSH from the UK. She hates noise and is a very timid cat. I got her from a pet shop in London when she was about 8 weeks old and she spent the first couple of weeks hiding under the sofa. 12 years later she still spends most of the day hiding under the bed, behind a curtain or anywhere which is out of site. She comes out on her terms when everyone is sitting down and when it's quiet.

She does come for attention occasionally but once again only on her terms.

She is very picky with food. She won't eat wet food or cat treats. Chicken, ham etc.... mean nothing to her.

She will only eat dry food of a particular brand which unfortunately is not available in Dubai. Luckily I've brought along from the UK a bag of her favourite food and currently I'm mixing it with a new brand and it seems to be working. Slowly I will reduce the amount of her regular brand and start increasing the amount of the new food in the mix.

Lolly is a very smart cat but pretends that she isn't.

Faya the Russian Blue is totally the opposite. She makes funny squeaking noises like a mouse when she wants to sound cute which usually is around dinner time. She begs for food like a dog and sits under the dinner table praying for something to accidentally fall on the floor. Even if she has just eaten she makes you feel like she hasn't been fed for a month. She can even play fetch just like a dog.

She is very playful and very caring and loving. She loves giving cat massages and will lick you to death in the morning to wake you up.

Faya is a very smart cat and wants you to know it.

I just love Lolly's cute little face, she reminds me of a bush baby with those beautiful large eyes :love:

Faya well, she's got that regal aristocratic expression. She is beautiful and she knows it :nod:
