My cat's about 15, I'm not too sure. I've have her since 1999 having got her from a shelter when she was a kitten and since then she's been a picture of health up until this year, naturally in her older years she's been less active but has always been pretty energetic when she wants to be and hates being left alone, meowing at closed doors etc.

Last night though, she was sleeping on my bed all day, she got up the stairs seemingly fine in the morning, and was in the same spot when I got home, later tried to get up and fell back down right away when her back legs just weren't working, she then rolled over onto my laptop, which she likes because it's warm. I thought it was a bit funny, but she's been sleeping all day so she might of not been fully awake. Anyway, since she's deaf, when I had to feed her I had to carry her down the stairs which has been the usual since she went deaf like 2/3months ago(the same time she got a lot lazier), but she ate fine, and jumped up on our little seating area and onto her favorite cushion and that was her for the night, but her legs were working fine.

When I got up this morning I found her in a cat basket, which she hates, she never goes in them, and she was freezing, so I put her in my dressing gown and next to the fire to warm her up, then at 11 I left for work. I put food down for her, she wasn't interested, I even tried giving her some chicken, which she loves, and wasn't interested in it. Normally if she can smell meat of any kind she's pawing at me to try and get some. Or crisps, yogurt, basically anything that isn't fruit or veg. My mum was in all day, and says she's tried feeding her, carried her over to her bowl, she looked at it, then laid down on the floor. Hasn't gone to the toilet, ate or drank all day. So my mum put her back next to the fire.

When I got home she was lying in her basket fast asleep, so I went to stroke her to let her know I'm home, at which she normally shoots her head up and makes a weird purry sound, today not so much, she didn't move at all. So I'm pretty worried about her.

One of my other cat had weak back legs earlier this year, but not to this extent and I found out he had diabetes, since his medication has been sorted out he's been a lot better, and then my other cat, which was really from 2 doors up, but as they had dogs and the cat was scared of them I fed and let in my house, she went missing for a few days before her owners came over to tell us her back legs weren't work so she took her to the vet who said she had Kidney failure and had to be put down.

Obviously, I'm taking her down to the vet tomorrow morning. Should I be expecting the worst?

Truthfully she has to go to the vet NOW, not tomorrow.  This sounds like an emergency.
I'd like to have done so, but the Vets anywhere near me had closed by the time I got home.
