I'm a little bit concerned that my cats "obsession" might become unhealthy for him. I got a male ginger tabby called Snickers and i think he believes that his whole live depends on my Love for him. I love him dearly but I think that his Love for me might just going a bit too far in the regard that it's impossible for me to satisfy his needs to be cuddled and loved back. He follows me everywhere i go, he always sleeps on my chest or neck, he keeps giving me little cat kisses everywhere and he wants to lick my face a lot. He's always on my lap and up in my face purring, whatever i do. He always stares at me and tramps around on my belly like he would with his mom when suckling.
When my partner wants to cuddle me he'd get inbetween, not aggressively, just trying to create a gap between us and occupying me. He waits at the door when i come home and just wont leave my site. It's adorable but i feel bad when i cant cuddle him all day long. Cuddling is by far the thing he loves most in the world, especially with me, he'd prefer a good cuddle over treats and playtime any time.

Does anybody Know whether this kind of behaviour could actually be bad for him and what i could do about it? I don't even want to think about what would happen to him if i had to be away from home for some days, like if i had to go the hospital or something.

Welcome to the forums!  How long have you had Snickers?  Do you have any background information on him?  It sounds like he is a bit insecure and you provide comfort and nuturing for him.  Last year I brought a feral/stray male orange tabby into my home.  He had been living outside for about 2 years.  After living in his safe room for 3 months, he was able to come out and mingle amongst our home.  He was always with me.  I called him "Velcro kitty".  He cried if he couldn't find me.  He wanted to be right up next to me, licking me, having me pet him and followed me everywhere.  Because of his previous life outside he was so insecure.  I used Feliway diffusers as well as liquid Composure max.  I mixed the composure into his wet food 2x a day.  This helped him to feel more calm and secure in our home.  Another tip was to play with him.  Cats need to remember their instinct for hunt.  Do you have a da Bird toy.  Get him moving.  Allow him to hunt the toy, catch the toy and at the end of a play session, reward him with a yummy treat.  Try playing with him 2x a day.  He needs to have his confidence boosted!

I had a cat that was just like this that was lost from his mom and the end of his weaning as a kitten and saw me walking one day at a shopping center parking lot and just hopped in my front seat when I opened the passanger door. There really isn't much you can do as I tried it all. He was fine when I left the house and never exhibited any separation anxiety so I just accepted him for his personality.

Each cat is different as far as how they exhibit their affection for you.

Each cat has different personality some are more affectionate and more a cuddling type than others.

I have a kitten since he was 2 weeks old so he doesn't remember his Mama cat and all he knows is my husband and I. He is VERY affectionate. He is always in the same room with us, he is always meowing,  purring and licking g us~ We just think he is adorable! so enjoy your cuddling cat!

One of my cats is like this. He would happily sleep in my lap all day and night if I would let him.  If my husband and I are in a room together he *needs* to be in there too. When either one of us leaves ( work, errands, social) he waits at the door for a while crying before he gives up and gives all his attention to whoever stayed home.  We've tried playing with him more or giving him toys or things to distract him...He enjoys it,  but he then he is ready for more cuddles. Whenever we go away for more than a day he turns into super Velcro when we get home... as I walk across the apartment he stays in constant contact with my ankles. We joke that he is emotionally dependent.

Like you, I also worry that he would freak out if he was ever separated from us for a longer period. We have great cat sitters who stop in three times a day and spend some time with them. According to our cat sitters he is just fine while we are away, he plays and eats normally. Its just when we are home that he is crazy lovey.

One thing that seems to help- we figured out that he loves sleeping on a clean towel... as long as we change the towel/blanket in his box every day or two he is comfortable with hanging out there even if my lap is available.  Maybe you could try finding your cat's favorite spot in the house and make it more appealing ... that way he gets a lot of comfort from it and might not need as much from you.
