My in-laws cat just had 3 kittens about 2 weeks ago. One of them is not feeding from the mother (and as far as we can tell does not or does very very little) so we are bottle feeding and hand rearing. However she is failing to put on much weight (weighs only 110 grams whereas her siblings way over 400g) and makes strange snorting/sneezing noises after feeding and sometimes while sleeping. Some days she drinks a decent amoung (30mLs+) but others (like today) she drinks very little and is not interesting in the bottle at all.

Does anyone know what may be wrong and is it possible that she may have a cleft palate or something similar that is stopping her from being able to feed well and milk going into her nose?

Hmmm...  What position do you hold her for feedings.  She should be on her belly with her head up; mimicking the position they are in when nursing from their mothers.

Thank you for your suggestion, but unfortunately we took her to a few vets and it was unfortunately a pretty severe cleft palate and there was nothing they could do without her suffering in the meantime and no garantee that it would work so she was put to sleep :'(
