I am fostering a four week old kitten, and he's developed worms. He had fleas when he came to me, and I suspect it's tapeworms as I saw moving pieces in his diarrhea. He has been losing weight for two days (at 14.5 oz from 1 lb), and he hasn't been eating well. He does drink a lot of water. I was under the impression that tapeworms or worms in general made cats and kittens eat more than usual. Is it possible that my kitten's worms are causing him to lose his appetite? I'm taking him into the vet first thing in the morning -- should his appetite come back when the worms clear up? Or are the two not related at all?

Thanks for all the help!

I am sorry I don't have any experience with cats and worms. There is a search box at the top of this page for The Cat Site. You might try doing a search to see if we have some threads you can read about worms in cats. Good luck.
