I have a cat that has started on 1 ml of fluoxetine per day. It is in liquid form right now, but she is not eating all of it when I put it in her food.  She had previously been given capsules and ate them fine. I'd like to put the liquid into capsule form and figure I can do it myself pretty easily.

I'm trying to figure out what size gel caps I need to buy. She would be fine eating 2 smaller capsules.  Does anyone know what size I would need to fit .5 ml in a capsule?

I think you need size level 1.
Here is a site that might help you.
PS: can you get the liquid flavored by a compounding pharmacy/pharmacist. That's how I give Ritz antibiotics when necessary; I can't pill her.

Size 3 is a pretty standard pet size. I have sizes 3 and 4 at home. The higher the number, the smaller the gel cap, so 5 is the smallest you can go and 000 (triple zero) is the largest. Here's a gel cap chart that I have used: http://www.torpac.com/Reference/Torpac Size Chart.pdf. If you print it out at 100% scale (no reducing or enlarging), it will give you a fairly accurate idea.

I, personally, would not feel comfortable putting a number 1 gel cap down my cat's throat. It's rather large, IMO.

I do give Sebastian's liquid Chinese meds in gel caps since they are so bitter. A size 3 gel cap holds 10 drops using the dropper that comes with the bottle. I don't know how many ml that is. The liquid starts to dissolve the gel cap quickly, so I coat the gel cap with a little organic coconut oil and administer right away.
