I recently rescued a pregnant cat, she is due any time soon. Normally a loving playful little thing but for the last few days she refuses to eat, and hasnt been peeing or pooing. She sits and silently meows an barely moves. Her eyes appear quite sunken an I no it sounds silly bit she looks sad. :( I rushed her the emergency vet yesterday...all tests were fine..blood sugars..temperature.. and the vet just said leave her in a quiet place. But surely this isnt.right!!?? :(please help im so worried about her x

I agree with you, sitution seems serious.  Its not the everyday high preg situation.   Does she drink water / pedialyte?  Did the vet said anything about dehydration?

Normally, my first advice here were to consult your vet.  This you had done already, without visible result.

Is there another vet you can consult? Someone experienced with cats?   Or is the ER vet experienced with cats, and thus, you can be fairly sure his advices were correct?

It is true, if there is no health problem, being in peace in a safe corner may be the best.   Also, good he didnt  just make a cesarean - while it may be the safest for the mom, it would kill of the kittens if they are premature.  Kittens dont manage well premature deliveries.

Is there any reason why she would be "sad",  something stressing in the house, or similiar??

While you wait, get home pedialyte, bought or home-made.   Glucose sugar (to make pedialyte from).   Kmr or goat milk - both for kittens and perhaps for her...

Difficult.  I dont see any clear easy solution.  The only safe is ask another vet, if you do have access to a good vet.

Good luck!    *vibes!*

The vet seemed to know what she was doing. Even gave her an internal to see if she was oprning up incase of problems with the kittens.
Her milk started coming through on saturday 48 hours ago...and early hours of Sunday morning she had one.bout of vomiting and one of diarrhea.
Ive just laid down some tuna to try entice her an she has had a small wee. But she still is nowhere near her normal self :( x

On the last day I foretold your statement " Heavily pregnant cat!! " Your cat might have ate some rotten dead rat. Give your cat some milk mixed with a drop of Eucalyptus oil.

Herbal oils (essential oils) should never be ingested by animals or humans.  They are formulated for topical use, in salves/creams, or aromatics only.

Teas and tinctures are ingestible, but even then, they should be treated as respectfully as medicinals and should only be taken/given after careful research or consultation with a knowledgeable practitioner.

Please remember that our pets do not process chemicals the same way we do, and many things that are fine for us are deadly to them.

Especially considering that anything you give to a pregnant animal will most likely travel through the blood or milk to the babies, I really don't think it's the best idea.

I wonder if momma kitty is in the first stages of labor and maybe having some difficulty.  I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for this situation.  On the one hand, I would be inclined to get a second opinion, and on the other I'd be afraid of moving her too much if she is in labor.
