Hello everybody!

I want your opinion about the diet I have for my black kitten. He is 4 months old. I live in China and in my small town there isn't to many pet shops and the supermarkets only offers the classical big brands of cat food: Whiskas and Friskies Purina. I have seen some domestic brands of Cat food produced manly in Shanghai but since all the packages are in Chinese and I can't barely read their ingredient list I'm feeding my kitten with Friskies for kitten.

So since I can't get any quality wet canned food, I try to improve his protein intake like this.

- 1 raw egg once in a week.

He love it, he lick it all with delight.

- 1 Chicken wing cocked without salt and any other spice. Once 2 weeks

He also love it, I remove the small bones just in case.

- A small piece of Tuna washed in water (to remove the oil it has from the tuna can) once in a week

- Small bits of dry squid once in a month

And also as a threat I give him those Whiskas sachets and I mix them with his dry food twice a week.

My kitten is incredible obedient. He will eat whatever I put in his plate without complain. He is not picky about any food and even after eating tuna he won't reject his regular Friskies meal.

Also he drinks plenty of water. Every night I have to refill his water bowl so I think eating dry food is ok if he drinks plenty of water. He will even drink water when I order him too, he is such an obedient good boy!!

So what do you think about this diet?

Do they have canned Friskies? It's not very high-quality but it will have more protein and moisture than dry Friskies. The Whiskas sachets should be OK too but I'm not as familiar with the brand. If possible I would try to get him on at least 50% wet food.

The additions you give him are fine. Be sure to remove all the bones from the chicken because cooked bones are very splintery. If you feel safe giving him raw meat with bones that's OK, but no cooked bones.

Ohh I didn't know about the cooked bones and raw bones, thanks for the advice. I'm afraid to give him any raw meat because... this is China. There is many news about the food having some kind of bacteria and stuff that you should kill by cooking... sadly I can't find the canned friskies here v___v
