Another rescued, I heard a  crying outside the porch, I go outside and see the older feral mother and her teenage? kitten hissing at this little kitten, I know they would have killed the kitten.

I don't think it was this feral's kitten being the kitten was very little, not an adult kitten (if you can call one that)

The little kitten ran up to me on the porch, so here I go again. I think its a she, I just cannot tell and she don't like me looking
, she's about 6 mo. old, I think she's the offspring of another cat that used to hang around, the kitten is on the thin side and long that's why I think its the other cat's kitten, I guess she's supposed to be long, I don't know about cats breeds etc and God only knows about this cats genealogy.

The kitten meows a lot for attention more so than Marty did when he was a kitten, that's why I think she's a she.

Anyway I've been putting off giving the wormer, I just bought some Drontal.

I've read a few posts about the axtia so I'm leary, I'm thinking of just giving a 1/4 tablet, she must only weigh about 4lbs. I haven't noticed any worms in the stool or on her behind but she wants to eat a lot, of course kittens need to eat more.

I haven't noticed any fleas, my dogs doesn't have them and Marty doesn't have them, I haven't felt the need to apply Frontline to the kitten or Marty, I do use it on my dog because she goes outdoors.

I've been fortunate being this kitten has never been sick, never has thrown up or had diarrhea, Marty had diarrhea when I first rescued him and after the first vet visit, the wormer they gave him, no more diarrhea.

Do you think a 1/4 of tablet would be ok, I'm hesitant after reading about the axatia, and give it for 3 days?  I know the vet would be better for this but not at this time, I'm searching for the vet clinic  I found awhile ago so I can get her spayed & shots

Also do you think she will go into heat this young? What do I look for....the bleeding like a female dog has? will Marty go crazy if he smells she's in heat, he is neutered.

Thanks,

Mother to Marty

She may go into heat soon and it will probably perplex Marty, depending on how long ago he was neutered.

I would advise, though, that you keep her in a separate room until she's been vet checked.  That way, Marty and your dog are not exposed to any potential germs she might have.  And even if you don't see fleas, a dose of Revolution or Frontline won't hurt and may prevent an infestation.

Thank you for helping her.

Thanks for your reply

I haven't used separate rooms, do you think a 1/4 tab of the Drontal is ok then? give for 3 days or 1 time?

If any germs
my dog and myself have been exposed past months,  she/he has been sleeping in my bed with me & Marty to the point where the kitten is in my face.

Well D and I'm taking an immune suppressent drug for a long time .never thought of that

I never thought of these things, Marty was my 1st cat, still learning from him.

I guess I'll just play it by ear, we'll be  going to the vet

Well, if you two haven't caught anything by now, you probably won't, so no worries there.

The Drontal issue is something I can't answer - hopefully, someone with more experience than I have will answer that soon.

Glad you guys are all adjusting well.
