I have taken them in before and kept them. But I am at my limit. The shelters are at their limit. DD's friends cannot take him. He is about 3 months old and fairly thin.

I came home today to find him screaming at me. I fed hm and he continued to scream at the door. Its windy and cold tonight and he wouldnt go away. So of course I took him in. He is in our bathroom. Not very content, but warm and dry.  I am at a loss here. I cannot care for another, nobody wants him. What the heck does a person do? If i did put him back outside. I wonder how long he will continue to cry at the door.

I assume someone droped him off. We live in the country. I cant think of dropping him off somewhere else.  So many people around her are cruel to cats so i dont know what to do with him. :(

We've all been where you are, sadly.  Is there a way you can provide him with a shelter (a Rubbermaid container filled with straw will do in a pinch).  Just neutering him and making sure he has his shots will go a long way toward ensuring him a safe life, even if he's outside.

I recognize these things add up but perhaps there's a program near you that might help with that?  We have a great such program near me that has helped me fix several dozen cats.  I've been able to find homes for most, working with the program's network.  The others are still here, so I know what you mean about being at your limit.

Thank you for being kind enough to offer him respite for tonight!  Hopefully, you will  be able to find a more permanent solution.

Many shelters that are full have a policy that they will take in strays that are brought to them. The Humane Society will not refuse to take your stray. If you call and simply ask if they have room they will say they are full, but chances are if you tell them you have a stray they will not refuse you. I hope you're able to temporarily give hospice to the cat-cats are pretty desperate once they start crying and begging to come in. I am facing a similar dilemma too.

sadly money is an issue. i just dont have extra money to use for their health needs. I have bought some food, but even that can get expensive. I bought the walmart brand, so at least he has food. He has soft bloddy stool, so I assume he has worms ;(  I dont know if he woud go into a tote, he crys loudly at the door.

I did find a no kill shelter. They are booked and we are on a waiting list about 2-3 weeks out. So hopefully i can keep him content until then.

Oh, that is good news.  Bless you for taking the extra effort for this kitty.  Fingers crossed things work out for you and him.

Oh my gosh.  He's a little one isn't he.  I swear to God, the people who drop off kittens/cats out in the country like that should be shot.  Could you, maybe, ask the shelter to help you out as far as feeding him?  I'm assuming that he has been socialized and that's why he's crying at your door.  I hope things work out for you and the baby.

We decided to take him in until they shelter has room for him.  We put him upstairs in out spare room.  he is doing ok. But I am finding small white dots on his fur. i am worried now that what ever it is. Can be transported from us to our other cats. Im not sure its from worms or fleas. The look like tiny flat white dots.

The shelter called and we can bring him in next week.  But until then..

Magnifying glass?  I've never seen anything like like that on any of the strays or ferals at my household.  Curious.

I just googled small white dots on cats fur and it came up with lice.  Not transferable to humans.  There is a medicated shampoo for that.  Might want to talk to your vet.

I did too. It said could be dandruff, eggs from tape worms or from fleas. They are so tiny and seem to pop up when i pet him.

Walking dandruff?

One problem if such white dots gets in your clothes, they can get carried to other pets.

Only way to really get rid of it is then to give medicine to all pets at the same time, usually needs another medication round until pests are gone from pets.

It is annoying issue because financially it is so much of burden and in case of feral cats it is issue of applying medicine to neck of cat. Here only vet can prescribe the medicine while in some other countries one can buy it freely, I think Revolution was one brand.

Hopefully there has not been contamination, to prevent such you could swap clothes always after visiting the room poor little one is in and make sure clothes are not contacting anything that could transmit possible mites before washed, in practice straight to machine and machine kept closed, if possible washing machine could be run right away.
As those are so difficult to see it is hard to attempt to check if one has them on clothes.

It was really good thing that you kept little one separated, if it so happens that those are mites it might have saved your other pets from contamination.

I wish you luck and thank you from caring the little one!
