Hello all,

Just curious as to what everyone in the UK feeds their cats?

I have tried a few different things:

Dry:

Applaws

Taste of the Wild

Wet:

Natures Best (from Fetch)

Gourmet (I think its by Purina)

Sainburys Finest/Waitrose Finest

Cosmo (from Zooplus)

Encore

I am in Romania, but I have tried everything that zooplus sells. I feed 70% wet food and 30% raw. We have on rotation Thrive, Applaws, Bozita, Grau, Gourmet, GranataPet, Schmusy, Katovit, Cosma, Animonda and Miamor. Not all of them all the time, but these we've tried and liked.

Hi Irina!

I also tried the Bozita dry food in the giant bag.  They liked it actually, it was just inconvenient for me to store.  I've read good things about Bozita in general.  Also, I meant Cosma not Cosmo! They liked those cans and I felt like they were good quality.

The problem with Zooplus is that they don't do guaranteed delivery times and we are out at work all day so it became a massive pain as we kept missing the delivery!! Its a real shame that Fetch don't have a better selection because their delivery is fantastic.

Is the Purina Gourmet brand pretty good then? Its the easiest to find here and you can buy it in supermarkets which helps.

Hi I totally agree about zooplus and fetch, if zoo plus could give an hour delivery slot like Fetch I would order more from them! My cats love variety as they seem to get fed up easily, they love thrive, Lilly's kitchen, encore, and gourmet gold. I tried applaws pate but neither of them would touch it!

I think some of the Gourmet products have sugar in them so I think they are probably not so good for them?

I do not feed dry anymore so I don't know about Bozita dry. Yes, Gourmet has sugar in it. Schmusy is pretty high carb, Thrive is expensive and Bozita chunks in jelly are a little too low on protein. I have not found a perfect food, but I try to balance quality, costs and what thay are willing to eat.

Oh interesting thanks for the info re sugar in gourmet. I will keep an eye out.  I totally agree on variety, plus I like to ensure they don't become fussy! It does mean I have several boxes of natures best sachets they are refusing to eat - the ungrateful little monkeys!  They LOVE Lilly's its just expensive, but pretty widely available which is good.  Hopefully if Fetch gains customers they will broaden their product range.

Would be interested to hear any other UK owner's preferred brands!
