My 16 year old cat is mentally and psychologically healthy, although has been on daily pills for cat hyperthyroidism for 5 years

Her bones, joints are aging. She can not jump or climb any longer without a struggle

Should i give her a supplement to help her?

The ingredient "Glucosamine" seems to be common in most such supplements.

My 16 yr old is on Adequan injections to help with arthritis and it helps him tremendously.

Glucosamine supplements are good too.

We give our 17 year old a glucosamine supplement and Adequan.

There are a lot of glucosamine options that include other ingredients such as condroitin or MSM (a pain reliever).  They are relatively safe to give in low doses.  Human dose is usually 2 pills a day, I give 1/2 pill to kitty.  Personally, I actually prefer to keep it simple, with just glucosamine.

If you can afford it, you might also research and talk to your vet about Adequan.  It's something that has been used for horses for several years now, and is recently on the scene for dogs and cats.  It's an injection, and there is a starting regimen before tapering to a once a month (or as needed) dose.  I really notice the difference with Belle when she's had her dose.

Our vet recommended Dasuquin for BooBoo's arthritis. It really seems to be helping him. It's a capsule and we get it from Amazon. We open the capsule and put the med mixed in with his breakfast.
