My Molly is home from the vet. I discovered she has a grade 3 heart murmur. She is not overweight and is 6 years old. How do I treat this? It does not seem to have effected her activity level. Any ideas would be appreciated. Sally Hale

Well your vet is and should be your best resource on this.  Can you tell us what they said?  Not all heart murmurs are significant however if your vet is concerned, usually the next step is an echocardiogram to get a visual picture and see if there is a disease process at work.  If there is, knowing exactly what it is can then lead to treatments, but I don't know of specific treatments just because a cat has a murmur.

StephenQ, the vet said it was a grade 3 murmur. She said Molly could have had the murmur since birth. She didn't suggest any immediate treatment. Molly's mom
