This is my cats first litter of kittens, she's two years old and a very small cat. Her belly is huge! She started showing approximately 3-4 weeks ago. Her nipples are rosey pink but not yet leaking colostrum. She still has an appetite but not a huge one like she did before becoming pregnant. I can not only feel but see the kittens moving inside her belly when I sit a metre away from her. Her belly is quite firm but she hasn't lost any fur near her nipples yet. She's been VERY tired and sleeping a lot the last few days, and I have caught her trying to nest (of course not in a any of the five places I've set up for her) but when she looks for a place to give birth she meows and wants me to be around her whilst she's doing it. I don't want to take her to the vet and pay $120 to get a due date when she might have complications. And for everyone negative she will be getting spayed once the kittens are weaned, she was bred purposefully. Thanks in advance!

My cat recently had kittens and from what I observed she will lose the hair around her nipples first. My cat did not start nesting until the day she went into labor. She became very restless walking all around the house following me and meowing and me until I followed her into the closet where her box is. Then she would lay down until I left, then the whole process started over again. After she started nesting she had her kittens that night, the first one about midnight. Every cat is different though I suppose. You should post a picture so we can see her. :)

I'm having the same problem with my kitty. Cant tell how far along she is. I can feel the babies in her ttummy. But their movements are very subtle. She doesn't seem to have enlarged nipples at this time, as well they're still not that deep pink either. But my guess would be, she a month at best. So I'm expecting to have, we to have newbies by the first week of December

Nelbel I would say that your lil girl will be expecting very soon. Feel her back 2 nipples to see if they feel if they have milk in them. If they do, it will feel as if she has small warm little water pockets up from her nipples. That's a good sign that she will deliver with in the next 2 days. I hope you keep me posted. I love to hear about kittens and a healthy, happy momma.

It's so frustrating isn't it! I would say our little one is due in the next week or two, she's so big her nipples are protruding but they're still light pink, no colostrum yet though. Can't wait for kitty's! Just hoping I'm home when she goes into labor.

Yes! I just felt and it is very warm saccy feeling, she hasn't lost her appetite yet either. Just hoping all goes smoothly and I'm there to keep an eye on her.

I found for new mommas to be, they really don't like to be alone for their first litter. Also while she's in labor, it helps rubbing in a downward motion during her contractions. This helps comfort her and it seems to help with the delivery. I've been around a LOT of kitties in labor. Also remember that this is her first delivery. She may be in labor for hours. If you happen to home when it does happen, try to keep ur furry friend as calm and relax as possible.

I really hope she does want me there, she's been very affectionate the whole pregnancy so hopefully she'll want me there and not feel unconfortable. My babies having babies I wanna be there for her! Thankyou for your advice, I'll let you know how it goes/when it happens :)

I see you saw the kittens move. Usually they start moving in the final week, so I'd say she's expecting soon. Keep a good eye on her, make sure you have some clean towels around and a good spot for her to give birth at. Good luck, I hope everything will go well!
