A couple days ago my cats eye started watering and she was squinting. I assumed one of the other cats might have scratched her and used her eye drops from the last time. This appeared to help, she is not squinting as much and there is no longer yellow discharge it's clear.

Then today I noticed when she gets up it's like her back legs are giving out. She isn't standing up completely and sways when walking and then it stops and she walks normal. I have never seen this before and am just looking to see if anyone else has.

Are your cats gums and inner ears very pink or are they starting to yellow? Weak back legs and associated jaundice in cats is usually a very serious sign of organ failure and immediate vet care is necessary. I don't think the eye discharge is a very serious concern but in 2008 i noticed my 2 year old cat kept stumbling because she couldn't keep her back legs up. I took her to the emergency vet who said that she was in severe liver failure. They kept her on fluids for 3 days before she passed away.

I didn't mean to say that to scare you but my experience of cats with loss of rear leg use means an emergency vet visit.

Edited to also ask when is the last time you saw your cat eat?

Nothing is turning yellow as of yet. And she ate this morning, I haven't noticed any loss in her appetite. It seems to be her back right leg that is causing the swaying.

I'm thinking our youngest (who is now bigger then her) might have been to rough and possible hurt her leg.
