Hi,

I've been trying to find the best quality food for my cat. He was on Applaws, which he loved, but I'm worried about the rice it has.

I found NaturesMenu in a pet store, and gave it a try. He did not love it, be he ate it.

This one:

I was shocked when I read the ingredients, it seems to have nothing but protein, which is perfect!

But when I checked the way the food looks, I could notice some gooey substance that looks like gelatin.

The ingredients do not say anything about that. What is it? Fat, or gelatine, or what?

Its price is really afordable, and I want to give it to my cat on a regular basis if it is fillers-free and gelatine free.

I'm not familiar with that product, think it's probably only sold outside the United States.  I do have one question for you though...is it labeled as 100% nutritionally complete?  I was able to pull it up via an internet search, and in looking at the ingredients, I don't see anything  that indicates any organs or a source of calcium, but I'm not sure what is required in the rest of the world to be LISTED under ingredients.  I don't see any carbs listed, yet when I used my carb calculator, I get approx 15%, based on what they are showing as percentages of protein, fats.  ash, fibre, and  moisture.

So....since I don't think all the ingredients are listed on the website I was able to pull up, I can't say what that substance is.  Sorry.

It is a UK product.  The labeling rules differ in each country.  The above link says the chicken / salmon / tuna flavor is 71% meat. "Broth" which they define, is 28 %.  That still leaves 2 % unclear.

The gooey stuff is likely fat.  Salmon is a fatty fish.

The link above gives their phone number.  Why not give them a ring and see what they say?  Specify which flavor you are looking at when you see the 'gooey' stuff.

Thank you. :)

I got him the chicken  and turkey, and the chicken and beef flavours. So still wondering about the gooey stuff.

The chicken and Turkey has %43 chicken, 28% turkey, and minerals.

Vitamin D3 and vitamin E.

The Chicken and beef has beef %40 chicken 30% broth 28% and vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin E, taurine, zinc, and some other minerals including calcium.

I'm not in the UK, I'm in the Middle East, and calling is not practical .

It has a really good price, one sachet is around 1 us dollar. But still worried about what it hasm especially the chicken and turket flavour.

Thank you.
