So I picked up some Grammys Pot Pie for a rotation change and OMG they inhaled it! It smelled good too! I know it has carageenan, but it is a good food in a weekly rotation. I also bought Chicken A La King. We will see how they like that. Mine like chicken & duck, turkey not so much!

I haven't tried it with my kitties. I did try the Nutro Choice Chunky Loaf and they love it.

Yes nutro natural chunky loafs and prides rockstar rabbit are their favorites. They seem to like this Grammys Pot Pie as much.

Mine didn't like any of the Merrick flavors I gave them. They don't like anything from Halo either.
They love the Pride by Instinct (including the Rockstar's rabbit) and the Nature's Variety Prairie Homestyle. They like the Nutro Natural Choice minced and sliced varieties and the chunky loaf ones but not the regular pates. They will only eat the NVI pates with a topper or mixer.

Mine did not like halo but they chowed down on Grammys Pot Pie by Merrick. Chicken & Duck (their favorites) it had a texture like chunky chicken loaf by nutro natural.

I gave them cowboy cookout and they loved it. So far all the new labels of Merrick are a hit. I have Thanksgiving and Turducken to try still.

I was using Merrick Duck Pate to syringe feed. I had six cans of old label and then bought some of the new label and noticed that the food in the new label cans is a much denser pate than in the old label cans. Still worked for syringe feeding but not as well...

I recently offered Merrick pates to the furkids. They love it but I added a tablespoon or two of water to the can. I will try the other flavors. Thank you Bonepicker.

I water down all food I feed the cats.
I do too now. I figure any way I can get more water into the kitties, the better. All the years (19) I had my sweet Petey, I never knew dry food was not good for him. It wasn't until later in his life that I found out, from a new vet. I always gave him wet but he had access to dry all the time. I learned so much from reading the posts on this site. I do feed a variety of foods in case there are problems with a manufacturer (thank you Bonepicker). Petey would only eat one kind of food and it was discontinued. It took a lot of trying different brands to fine something he would eat. He wouldn't touch Merrick but my new kitties scarf it up.  I just placed an order with Chewy.com for two cases. They are quick and the prices are good. Thank you all who post on this site. I don't post often but I read the posts with my morning. tea, usually with Ms. Weezie on my lap or sprawled out on the desk. Chester Cheeto (ginger tabby), is usually reeking havoc somewhere in the house and our cool dude, Trotter is at the window waiting for the squirrel who comes up to the window. They are all rescues from a kill shelter and such wonderful animals. Thank you for letting me go on and on.

Yes it is good to rotate protein and brands and textures in case of allergies or recalls or boredom. I thought my girl was anti beef but the cowboy cookout proved me wrong. Now it's rabbit, duck, chicken and beef. She is still not a turkey lover even at thanksgiving she turns her nose up. I believe Merrick tweaked their recipes because she is soooo fussy. I just wish I could brush their teeth but having been feral that is not going to happen.

No. We're in town, so it isn't a well, and I put a filter on the tap so that what goes into the cats mouths (and ours) is a lot cleaner, but that didn't seem to affect Sukie there, as she barfs the "soup" regardless of the filter. Its interesting, because this is a healthy cat with a cast iron stomach. I think cats were put on this earth to keep us on our toes.

Could be she is able to eat it faster (basically drink it) and overeat.  I have one cat who is more likely to scarf and barf if the canned food is too runny or liquid. They love some of the Weruva brands, but I have to put in in the dishes by the spoonful and make him wait before he gets more than a couple of spoonfuls at a time, or he will regurgitate it up, usually minutes after they finish eating (before I can even clean the bowls). His brother and sister don't do this, but even after 4 years and never missing a meal, he seems to always eat like every meal is his last. On the other hand, his sister cannot and will not eat foods that are sliced or chunky, so there is individual cat stuff going on when I feed. If I do add water, I don't try to add it enough to make soup out of it, only enough to make maybe a teaspoon more of liquid. I figure that he only weighs 8 pounds, so a teaspoonful of extra liquid a few times a day is helping and is certainly better than him throwing it all up right away.  I have a filter pitcher that I use for us and them for drinking and food.

Its funny because she's finicky. She'll wait until all dishes are down before she decides to eat and will nibble at her dish until someone else is done than nibble at that and so on. If I add water, she vomits even though she isn't a gobbler.

"scarf and barf" is my new favourite saying! :lol3:
My Pushy does that too (his food is always watered down because of crystal issues) so I have to give his meals a third at a time.

As for the those Merrick flavours bonepicker bonepicker , my cats love them too. I think I've tried them all, and Mr Fusspot Wiggies ate quite a bit.

They certainly are individuals.  I know my husband thinks I am crazy the way I cater to them, but in a way, catering makes my life easier (certainly beats having cat vomit all in my computer chair when I go to sit down!).  Pushlady, I am pretty sure I got "scarf and barf" from this site.  It fit Tigger's behavior perfectly.  I can give all 3 cats a spoonful of food in a bowl--first his sister, then his brother, then him.  Before I can give his sister the 2nd spoonful, he is done and at her bowl (and I place his bowl over 2 feet away from her on my other side).  I have started spreading his food around in a swirl in the bowl, which helps a tad.  I've started wondering if he even tastes the food or just smells it as he sucks it down.

Merricks' is my go-to for grainfree wet. We usually rotate between four flavours for the month (He is a big boy) and Hugo loves his sliced variety. Unfortunately, he refuses to touch any of the shredded flavours so I stick with pate and sliced. We usually run between Beef Wellington, Cowboy Cookout, Chicken Divan, Chicken de la king and chicken casserole (although it has Tuna in it)

. My friend feeds her one cat on paper plates spread around a room with closed door, this slows him down.
