I won't bore you with the long story (again) about my IBD cat's medical issues. I have posted about it in other threads.

This is the problem that I am finding almost impossible to solve. I do not want to feed only dry (even though the vet says it is okay--long story), but I cannot seem to find a canned food that has everything I am looking (and not looking) for. I need a canned food that has ONLY duck--no other proteins-- and that is grain-free and NOT pâté style, because my cat hates it and will only eat slices. I would prefer no carageenan, but that might not be feasible. I have done a lot of research and just can't seem to come up with anything.

She has turned her nose up at the Blue Basics wet food, even though she loves the dry formula. She licked and walked away from the Nature's Variety LID canned duck. These are both pâtés, but I decided to give them a try anyway, to no avail. I know that Natural Balance has a LID duck food, but I believe that it is also pâté. Candidae Pure has a sliced duck food, but it does have chicken fat in it, so I am not sure if that would be a problem. She loves but cannot have any more the Wellness sliced salmon. If only Wellness made a sliced duck food!

Does anyone have any ideas, or is it hopeless?

Raw is not an option by the way. I believe that uncooked meat is dangerous.

If so my cat vomited until I switched her to rabbit/pork, which is pride by instinct. Their duck has turkey, no chicken. They are bits in gravy and she looooves them

Yes, chronic vomiting is an issue. The vet wants her only on duck for now. I have fed her foods containing pork, chicken, turkey and salmon previously, and I am supposed to eliminate those for now. I have never fed her rabbit. I know that Nature's Variety gets their rabbit from China, so that is a little worrisome.

I feel for you, as I went through the cat vomiting worry with Ruby, and posted several threads on it back in January.   Luckily, Ruby isn't fussy, and when we changed to hypo-allergenic Royal Canin veterinary canned (duck), her vomiting and diarrhea stopped.

If you took the dry away, would she eventually get hungry enough to eat the canned pate?   Can you sprinkle dry on top and try to entice her that way?  Can you try slicing the pate, or putting in chunks, or mixing with some water to make it less pate-y.  Maybe warming it a bit or chilling it.  Or even trying different dish sizes (my nephew cat is fussy about the dish his wet food is served in)

It's a good idea to remove the dry because if a cat can smell it they will hold out. How about cooking the duck meat?

Do you feed dry? I cut out the dry and went grain free canned only. I also bought a furminator. I also had her wormed even though nothing showed in stool sample and started using revolution drops (fleas and worms) instead of frontline only. I also used vets best hairball relief tabs (cats love taste) you can buy on amazon it is a digestive aid with slippery elm and psyllium. Now all I need is grain free canned in rabbit, chicken and duck. She stopped vomiting. I also stopped letting her out because she would eat chipmunks etc. she went from daily vomiting to nothing. I believe no dry, no grain, the vets best and revolution drops together solved the problem. She eats no dry, no canned fish, no venison, no beef and no turkey. I gave her a can of stuff by mistake that had small amount if salmon and rice and she puked.
