Hi all,

I have a kitten of 7 months who has always loved the food we give her (Royal Canin Instinctive Kitten in gravy). She recently has been eating too much too quickly and has vomited a few times. The trouble is that the last time this happened she decided that she doesn't want to eat the food anymore as more than likely she thinks she'll vomit again. To add to this confusion I mistakenly purchased the Royal Canin in gelatin instead of gravy and have been giving that to her. The taste is the same but the texture is different. I am wondering if this may have also played a role in her going off the food? She is, however, still eating her dry food and drinking quite a lot of water. I can't afford to just throw all the wet food we have for her away as I have bought a supply for about a month, so really would like to encourage her to eat it again. Any advice on how to help her get back to normal?

Thanks.

Has she just started vomiting since changing to the food with gelatin?   if so, maybe the new food is not agreeing with her.    Can you return the unopened cans and exchange for the ones with gravy.

No, she has occasionally vomited previously when she ate her other food very fast, but this is the first time she has stopped eating the wet food altogether.

I can ask if they'll do an exchange maybe, but unsure on the shop policy. She seemed fine with the gelatin in the few days she initially had it, it seems to always be linked to when she eats too much, too quickly that she vomits. It's just strange that this is the first time she now won't eat the wet food even a day later, as previously she'd forget all about it and carry on as normal.

I am out of the country at the moment so I haven't actually been there to witness any of this, this is all information I've been given from my partner. When I get back tomorrow I'll try and see if I can get her to eat some of the wet food in sauce that we have left and see if she is willing to try it.

Thanks.
