Good morning.

This Saturday's question is;

Did you go to a Halloween party? What did you wear?

I went to a party at my friends cafe. I dressed as The Black Bride, a long black dress, black veil, tiara made of plastic spiders and a bouquet of black and purple plastic flowers.

I love Halloween.

I took my kids to a little festival at our church.  We call it (as many other church's do) Hallelujah night.  It doesn't always fall right on Halloween; but it's usually pretty close.  Some years they've made dressing up optional.  This year they didn't; but some kids came in costumes.  They usually make it some kind of contest and ask for Biblical themed costumes.  And yes; the kids get overloaded with candy there too.

This year they made it more of a community thing.  They cleared out the parking lot and rented 7 different bouncy house type things.  Some were for climbing and sliding; one was for running through obstacles (my 2 year old thought that was the best!).  They had popcorn and cotton candy, face painting, and music too.  We had so much candy come in that even parents got a bag.  They used to do indoor games "penny carnival" style (ring toss, indoor bowling, bean bag toss) and you got a couple pieces per game (free).  This year they divided everything up into zip-lock bags ahead of time.  We did get more people from the neighborhood to come.  It was really nice.  One mother came with her little girls and commented how nice she thought it was.  I'm glad people appreciated it!

Oh; I wore jeans, a sweater and a coat!  It was in the low 50s; so not too bad.  My DD was shivering after we got home; but it turned out she started running a fever.  Poor kiddo.

And yes I'm sitting here eating my "Reeces Chocolate Tax."
DD has a peanut allergy so that's at least half the reason I'm eating them.

Rick spent the night on the couch watching a high school football game on tv and eating a couple peanut butter cups. I was in bed, watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents and reading. No Halloween party here.

No Halloween party but we did take the kids trick or treating. One was a fireman the other was a spider. Hubby and I did not dress up.

I spent a quiet Halloween night with my 9 y/o daughter Anna. We live in a small townhome subdivision. I took Anna trick or treating in just our subdivision. Every year I offer to take her in the car to other neighborhoods and every year she says, " no I'm tired,we can go home now."
:pumpkin:
Every year on the morning of Halloween her school has a story book parade. The kids are to dress up as a character from a book. If they have the book they carry the book in the parade. Here in Florida you can always count on the weather being beautiful on Halloween. The rainy season is ending by this time the humidity is down and it is still 80 degrees out. No coats covering costumes in Florida!! Most of the kids and all the teachers dress up and they have a parade outside at the bus loop with music and all. They always have a great turn out of parents who come to watch. My job is very tolerant of allowing me to leave work for school events and return to work afterwards and every year that is what I do. After all child rearing is not a dress rehearsal. :rbheart: :heart3:

Robinhood AKA Anna Elizabeth :pix: :cheese: The first photo is before school. It is still dark when we leave in the morning. I am not sure why the parade photo came out so dark. I was using my iPad for the first time to take a photo outside.

We would love to see a photo. It sounds like an awesome costume. I have seen those black and purple roses. I bought them for the center piece for one of my daughter's parties. The spider tiara is a great idea.

I did not, I stayed at home after a long day of classes and did a bunch of online shopping in my jammies.

Yuck! My friend in Newmarket had snow last night, but it didn't hit us till this morning. Our Halloween was just rainy and chilly.

What channel was Hitchcock on, I loved his old shows.  I ordered a complete season of his shows a few years back, I think it has 5 or 6 disks and I love them.  My sister came over to watch a few of his shows and enjoyed them too.  She doesn't have a DVD player so had to come over to watch them.  Russ likes them also.

I can see by the shadows that you were shooting partly into the sun. The camera compensates by darkening the whole picture, instead of just the extra-bright part.  This has been a problem from the first camera on.

Parties aren't my thing. I didn't do anything after my nieces went off trick or treating.

I went out on the town last night to catch up with some good friends over dinner and to see the huge crowd at Halloween Tokyo has, but I caught my last train home since I have a new little one who I didn't want to leave for the night. ^^; I dressed as Sailor Moon- it was a lot of fun!

I worked until midnight. We had a potluck at work but other than that, no Halloween celebrations for me. I always say I'm going to decorate and then I never do.

Did not dress up this year, but answered the door with Babee (our dog), who loves to greet the kids.

Funny thing, this year, 'bout 5:00, Babee laid on the floor facing the door.  Even when I called her, she would just look over her shoulder, then back at the door.  I could swear it was like she knew what night it was.

I usually let the little ones pet her, if their parents are permissive, and we do tricks (high five, roll over, bang!, jump).  Since she is a tri-ped, and super friendly, the kids really get a kick out of it.

I don't mind older kids coming to the door if they have good costumes.  If their costume sucks, I ask them to do a trick for me, lol.  The look of shock on their faces when I ask them is hysterical, but I've had a few who have jumped on in with a silly trick or joke.

Halloween is usually one of my favorite holidays, but it has bittersweet associations for me.  You see, it was the night before I uprooted my entire life to move to a strange city 3 states away from all my friends and family.   We went to a Halloween party that night, 16 years ago, and that was the last time I saw many of our friends.  In fact, some of our friends didn't even get the news we were moving until that night.  We partied until about 2 am, and got up 4 hours later to catch a plane (cats in tow).  That was one sad and crazy Halloween night.

It was on Antenna TV, Carol. I like Hitchcock, too!

I hear the Yamanote line is the best place to see Halloween costumes.

Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Roppongi were the best places to be- I hit up Roppongi and Shibuya to see all the costumes and people out! It was so crowded on the train, though. Literally packed so crowded my feet sometimes didn't touch the floor!
