Hey everyone,
My two cats just went through a rough bout of tritrichomonis and have been eating royal canin gastro dry for the last month while they've been on their medicine per the vet. He said a high fiber food was good for them while trying to get rid of the tritrich. Before all of this they were eating natural balance canned. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with feeding their kitties after they've dealt with tritrich. Their stools are still not back to being solid, so that is the ultimate goal: Good poops and happy tummies.

I was trying them on raw before they got sick but it was not well received.

Gosh,I've never seen anyone ask this type of question before
.  What is your Vet saying about what type of food they should "return" to once this is completely resolved?  Is there some reason why you don't just want to put them back on the same food they were on before (the Natural Balance)?  Or do you want to keep them on a high fiber WET food, and is that what you are looking for suggestions for?

Sorry for the late response. This was just sort of a wait and see and one of my cats is back to having stinky poops, so I don't think the tritrich is out of her system. I have to take her back to the vet to see what the next plan of action is. I don't have any particular reasoning for changing their food from natural balance, other than I didn't see them really thriving on it (but that could just be because of the tritrichomonis). And I feel like even with the probiotics that they're on, maybe their gut flora just needs a little help with forming better stools.

So I guess there's no food change for now, since they will likely have to stay on high fiber and maybe have another round of metronidazole? That's what I'm guessing the vet will suggest.

Thanks for the response though!
